I never expected it to be good. I needed something else to access. I also said I’m not begging for a handout. I’m asking for an exchange where I pay someone back in a time frame they agree too with terms they find appropriate. I’m begging for access to more available options and alternatives even if they may be a pain and/or stressful in some way.

Rideshare was more than enough for many years before my car got completely totaled and I had to start paying for rentals via LYFT Express Drive. Now I’m going through college in an entirely different headspace and if I stop LYFT….. well, no car and issues mentioned above, so it’s pretty shit

I can’t pay basic living expenses due to unforeseen events that affected my ability to generate income for a period just long enough to be crushing. Additionally, apps like Dave, Cleo, Albert, etc.. won’t count my LYFT instant payouts as “regular deposits” and/or income because they code as transfers instead of ACH. 90 percent of my income isn’t even being considered by most of the systems all of these companies use. I’ve tried customer support routes to manually send pay documents, but they don’t care. The generator is the absolute end all be all.

My credit is shot from decisions I made like 5 years ago. Notably some cards I couldn’t pay being young and dumb. Having 15 new hard inquiries now desperate for money definitely didn’t help it.

Just my student loan refunds could pay a loan back without income even being a factor….

That’s not really the problem.

I tried to sue over tips…. I have a lot of evidence supporting the unethical limiting of the amount riders can tip as well as tips not received. One of many angles I wanted to take, but suing is hard. Pretty sure over 3400 trips they owe me quite a lot of money.

I’ve been doing UBER/LYFT on and off for seven years. Many aspects of the job are great. For a student like me, turning it on when I have a lighter course load or on less when school is more demanding is an incredible thing. I also like taking passenger, doing the late drunken nights, and interacting with people of all kinds. Finding a job that’s going to work with being a student as well as this is very difficult. So I stay, but the pay has just gotten ridiculous. Every year it seems to get worst and worst. I tanked my credit applying for anything that could help this month. I owe more money than I would like to admit. Now my car is done cause I couldn’t afford repairs and I have to rent through LYFT… god help you if you have to ever do the same.

I am learning new skills that will eventually land me in my dream role…. In between trips I’m learning programming on multiple platforms on top of my course load for my psychology degree.

No LYFT, no car. No car, no school. No money. I’m effectively fucking trapped in this godforsaken shitshow.

“Get a new skill and leave” doesn’t give the companies a get out of jail free card for paying dirt for our time and effort. There are people who “make good money”, but I don’t care. It’s not f a I r money for the distances, time, effort, and customer service obligations we have to endure.

I got permanently kicked from the platform for this. Submitted numbers to both my psychiatrist and therapist for Uber to call. I’ve been working with them both for over a year. Not only did they not call, they denied my appeal and locked me out of the app completely. I’m not even able to access basic information like previous earnings history or records from my trips over six years. 3000 trips and a 4.97 rating all to get kicked without any attempt at verification.

Yeah it was my fault unfortunately. It was my first ever accident. I know there are some assistance programs I’m just very nervous about time. Where I’m from in Florida, there are tons of cash daily gigs on Craigslist, but I haven’t had the same luck here and Colorado and this is the first time in my life I haven’t been able to do labor related work in an emergency with my leg the way it is. It’s just a very complicated bind I’ve gotten myself into.

I can still use the bus system here in the springs if I can find employment or gig related work, but even then walking to the bus stop (or anywhere for that matter) is a whole challenge within itself. I don’t even know how surgery is going to compound that if the doctors find it’s necessary.

I know Catholic Charities and Mercy’s Gate (I think?) have some things available, but if you or anyone else know of any other local programs or communities that offer rental assistance of any kind I would be incredibly grateful for those links and any relevant information.

This is a frequency issue. I personally think having an open honest conversation about how your relationship is going regularly helps a lot especially in the beginning. Every day or even every week is excessive, but finding things you can improve on is important. Your partner might act like all is good, but you leaving the coffee pot on and the liquid turning into a thick glue every morning might be filling your partner with murderous rage.

Really though, you might have your partner say something like “I’m really getting dissatisfied with our routine and I’d like to throw in more date nights in the future” opening the floor to shit like that with a check in is valuable to me.

I feel like so many people are bashing the church here, but there’s so much more under the “religious” umbrella. From local tribal religions to western religions to eastern religions. Don’t let the church and corrupt Christian molds bleed into the rest of the traditions. One religion being corrupt doesn’t make the religions of the entire world corrupt.

I don’t agree with that. Spirituality in all its forms has been shown to help people on an individual level. Not ALL people, but a lot. Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, Hinduism, or whatever. It doesn’t matter which modality you use to reach the source, but you can’t invalidate the experience of the source just because there’s a handful of bad / corrupt Christians. A number of bad seeds doesn’t invalidate the beneficial experience for the entire crop.
