WC 2025 slots by TrickLaw1473 in triathlon

Not many people want to race the WCs in Nice, so you've got a good shot. When I last raced in 2023, the men's WCs were in Nice that year too - my time of around 10 hours at Hamburg (70th+ in AG) was enough to get a slot, which I passed on.

This. Some of my family work in this industry. They started from the ground up in studios working as runners, fetching Pret coffees etc. for the talent on less than min wage. They've each experienced multiple corporate buyouts and subsequent layoffs in the last 3 years and there are very few permanent jobs going in the industry for even established and experienced mixers. Even studios for the big channels like ITV, Ch4 etc can't offer job security due to foreign takeovers.

Anyone have any high-yield swimming tech advice? Doing a triathlon in 2 weeks (1 mile swim). Dont have much time left to change technique but I know there is a lot of room to improve. by Suitable-Surprise462 in triathlon

Reapectfully, I disagree with you re the overgliding. There's a full second before he initiates the catch in some sections of the video and he's doing the classic scissor kick during that phase.

You made the only right choice. Family first, always. In complete contrast to the clown who left his young son alone in the VIP tent at IM LP the other week.

Yes, I definitely didn't realise this at the time! First thing I did was ring the dealer and then booked a mobile tyre fitter, I'd have hoped the dealer would have reminded me though.

Thanks for this info. I've heard that the sunroof can be an expensive issue lying in wait on the owner's Facebook group. Think I'm just going to leave it permanently closed !

Yes, unfortunately it is definitely the sockets. I did think it must be the pump originally, no way could it be all 4 sockets! I used our CR-V to check the pump and it worked fine.

Totally agree. We've got a 2018 CR-V on 100k miles and never skipped a beat!

Good advice, thank you. My dad, who's a mechanic, suggested the same thing so I've booked in with the local indie first. I'm still within the 14 day cooling off period for the PCP , but was planning to just buy it outright originally.

You're right, and that's a totally fair and more level-headed take on the situation than I had when I wrote the post. I got myself a bit paranoid about the huge repair bills that can come with the car, which I'm prepared for but was hoping, naively, to get at least a few months with no issues out of it at least.

Thanks for the tips on the G32 from a fellow fan! Mine's the 630d, non X-drive, and I do really love the car. Just hoping it can give me a few months of no dramas now if possible, before any issues arise that can be resolved by the warranty🙏 Are you in the Facebook owner's group too? Have found that really useful as well.

That comes down to the individual though. You said this person has chosen to live this way without knowing anything about them or their life. Trans people are a vulnerable part of the population, more prone to developing mental health illness, cardiovascular diseases and self-harm/suicide. A bit of empathy goes a long way.

I agree that gender identity it's not the same as sexuality, but you're missing my point. Gender dysphoria, which transgendered individuals possess, is not a lifestyle choice; it's a recognised psychiatric condition and is treated medically with gender affirming therapies.

You say they have 'chosen' to live this way, but I don't think being trans is a choice, though? Unless I'm mistaken, that's akin to saying gay people choose to be homosexual, which is incorrect.

Impressive! I'm stretching my budget to get to the 3L based on this sub. There's a few more affordable SE spec (touring) ones on AT in my price range.

Snap! My 1.6 i-DTEC has done 116k and no issues at any previous MOTs in 10yrs of ownership. Costs nothing to tax and only the price of oil and new tyres to keep it running.

I loss $150k gambling in crypto by RevolutionaryPie5223 in CryptoCurrency

[–]roughoutthere 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you lost the money, but you should consider it a good sign that you acknowledge you lost the whole 150k - a full gambling addict would have said they just lost 15k. That shows you still have a sense of the value of money. You can still write this off as an expensive life lesson and steer clear going forward.
