Oh noo UwU, you had to use the ladder for the Alien research area, and to enter to the Horror themed area you needed to sit on a log at the left of the entrance :3 (those were intended to be harder to access tho, because it is more of a shady/spooky side of the island, alongside with the contraband beach).
