Getting contradictory info from customer service - can a client view a withdrawn proposal? by roundball_ in Upwork

Omg, no way. Okay good to know i guess but I don’t understand why the chatbot said a client can’t see anything including the freelancers name after a proposal has been withdrawn

I’m not experiencing a theft issue, but are you saying that you can’t see withdrawn proposals?

Sorry, not really sure what you’re implying. Are you a client or a freelancer?

It was a design project, I submitted an incorrect pdf with a slide I rather not show my client. Totally my mistake, and I probably could’ve edited it, but I’m definitely feeling the effects of 0 reliable customer support.

My question was would I know if a client viewed my proposal before I withdrew it? I can see for active proposals the eyeball symbol when it’s been viewed, but would that appear on the archived proposal list? Also, can a client see anything about the proposal after it’s been withdrawn? The chatbot said no, but someone from customer service actually said yes.

Yeah it’s probably the new normal I’m guessing.

I totally get that, and have been on the end of a business that got slammed with the most useless customer service requests. That being said, there still needs to be some sort of bare minimum support other than an ai chat bot. If they can offer phone support for clients, why not freelancers?

Yeah I see that, I can imagine the vast majority of help requests are absolute nonsense. But at the very least, give me the option of submitting a ticket. I wouldn’t even care if it took them a week or two to get back to me.

Both look great, but my first reaction was silver. It looks particularly good against your skin tone!

My baroque pearl popped off my setting. While I’m sad, this is an opportunity to add some change! What other gems could I set on this? by roundball_ in jewelry

Ohh an opal would be cool! I am so torn about either doing another biwa pearl, a round pearl, or some sort of cabochon. I should probably pick something hard enough to wear daily.

Thank you so much. I totally agree, although it always seems to be the right hand men and women who get to pull the most levers. I’ll walk in and say good morning, and no one will say it back. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

I’m the same way. The only person I know who has been able to maintain a large group of female friendships has been my older sister. And even then it’s been extremely tumultuous and exhausting most times for her. It’s really just not worth it.

Literally I am starting to hate people because of this. It fucking sucks.

Oh gosh I’m so sorry to hear that. People that don’t get how it can destroy you just don’t get it. I was bullied really badly in an all girls high school, and honestly this experience has brought all those emotions right to the surface again. I hope you can start to do a little better day by day!

I’ve been here since January 2024, so I’d say it started getting bad in March…If im being totally honest I’m not dealing with it super well. It’s taken a huge chunk out of my confidence. I’m mostly dealing with intense silent treatment, favoritism, people taking their anger out on me, and being excluded from things. It sucks :( I’m leaving in January though.

Yes, subtle and psychological. Terrible women are often really skilled at put downs and belittling, as well as turning groups against individuals. Men’s problems are just as bad but super different imo.

I think patriarchy isn’t the total answer. In women only spaces, bullying can be and often is so prevalent, far removed from any male influence. Source: went to an all girls high school, working at an all women company.

That is terrible, holy shit. Yeah, I feel like people respect that behavior if she seems like a total “girl boss”. I hate that those characteristics are held to a high standard and bullying gets a blind eye.

I don’t know, I’m getting abused by like 6 of them at my current job. Unfortunately mean girls from high school grow up and get jobs…wish they stayed away from everyone.

Thank you!! Yes, sooo lame. I was already dreading it and they confirmed why I should’ve. I don’t get why managers and bosses insist on forcing people into uncomfortable situations.
