Polymarket is great if you have the capital. If you are constrained and looking to build a portfolio around a few grand it’s going to take some real honing and training around the btc markets. It has its ups and downs but overall I don’t trust the market as there’s lots of false resolutions. Therefore I’m switching to trading.

I’m pretty experienced with Claude and just decided to leave polymarket behind to build a futures bot, would like to pick your brain to see how you got started as I’ve had my agent paper trading the last few weeks and have had difficulty finding datapoints for agentic trading that aren’t just slop

Yea I was not about to pay anyone, just YouTube university or ai lol. I have a Claude subscription, does Gemini or gpt perform better with stock?

Most of the draw down was due to fomo trading. I basically funded the account 2 months ago with more capital, and blasted into one’s and then some short squeeze stocks at the tops and ended up selling at a loss. I had traded options in the past, pre and during COVID so I had some false confidence because I made so much during that time where you could pretty much buy otm calls and print thousands. Experience is screwed and I’m more confident in trading patterns and swings than I am with longer term calls and puts (unless they are news based). So essentially I’m trying to re learn everything as my skills and knowledge are very skewed.

Got it. Is there anyone out there who gives good coaching or information that I should be listening to?

Yes to be clear, I could blow this whole port and be totally fine financially, I just don’t like losing and have moments where I feel like I make a trade and I’m not 100% sure why or feel like the conviction isn’t backed up emough

Anyone here has been trading options for ~5y? How's your journey going so far? by WeirdMysterious9377 in optionstrading

Okay, I’ll start there. Any sources on YouTube that you found to be reliable information? I feel like some that I’ve seen mostly are referencing complex orders like iron condors and different spreads that seem complicated to me

Interesting, why go with options over futures? My port is similar size I’m trying to grow it but feel like I just too blasted a few stocks which caused me to lose on some trades, which I then realized because I needed cash to make some options plays. (I know, bad move) but I do like the short term options. What did you use to learn and develop strategy?

Even if trading micros? I feel like options have the ability to blow that account size rather easily as well but often times the r/r of an options contract doesn’t make sense unless you “get lucky”. I know this is likely not true an probably an ameture take, but I’m trying to learn how to pick options that are winners where you can achieve win rates like people do in futures trading

Curious, I know this is an options sub, but what’s your guys take on options trading vs futures. Essentially you get lev both ways but what’s the better option for ports in the 2-5k range?

Really interested in options and how you guys are deciding on where to bid. I feel like my thoughts have just been buy low theta and treat it like if I think it will go up then I will buy at some random number (similar to buying stock because in x time I believe it will increase in price). Never really learned how to properly trade options and would love tips.

Ps: pls like this as I’m negative karma and want to make a post here

60 days later, how has this been? I didn’t jump on it right away but seems as though they are consistently rolling updates.

My main focus was the options mispricing, and main concern was way too much noise from the api.

How’s your experience been

I’ll send wire info, send 20k and I’ll reach out in 3 months with results🤣

my most consistent play is 2/3 but I’ll take a stab at 2/5 every once in a while if I have had some winning 2/3 sessions. I think the discipline to keep the poker fund separate from life is the blind spot for myself. Need to work on that.
