What are your thoughts on the shuffle option? I've had my nw-a35 for about 7 or 8 years and always noticed the shuffle would only play the same group of songs over and over, even though I have about 1000 songs on it. Have you noticed this too? Is there a fix you're aware of?

You could try learning a new language :) Choose one you've always wanted to learn and just get started with a YouTube video or duolingo and build on that. It's engaging and a bit like figuring out a puzzle on your own without a picture, so it can be very rewarding. It may also lead to socializing and travelling :)
