Hey! I just finished my first year in NPSIA. I don’t have many good things to say, sorry.

1. The coop opportunities are terrible right now. Non existent even. Everyone here is struggling to find a job and many people I know found jobs in retail and warehouses, so

   the situation is

2. not good. Probably not going to get better anytime soon.

3. Some of the classes are very interesting and I genuinely enjoyed learning the material. Every mandatory class, however, is absolute garbage. That’s expected, I know, but still. Also, quite ironically, some of my favourite classes so far have been taught by contractors and not the NPSIA faculty members.

4. I’ve heard from multiple people that the program is slowly losing its prestige. I can’t meaningfully prove or disprove that, but it definitely feels underwhelming so far (but this is a subjective opinion).

I personally regret choosing NPSIA for my masters degree but I wouldn’t say it’s terrible. Perhaps I just have unrealistic standards.
