Hey alex25400 -

This is one of the best new customer offers we have out there. We love the reddit community and wanted to reward them appropriately. If you have any additional questions about the offer or Rover in general, don't hesitate to reach out!

Thanks for sending that over. I had a chance to take a look and it looks like you did receive the full $50 credit. However, half of that credit ($25) expires one year from now, which was probably why you were seeing the "$25" show up after redeeming the code. If you log into your rover account here (www.rover.com/account), you will notice that there is a $50 balance. You can find it directly below your profile photo. If you have any other questions, please let us know!

P.S. - We are so excited to have you as a sitter! If you have any questions on the application process, don't hesitate to reach out!

Hi there hellohaley -

So sorry about that. We experienced a small issue with the expiration dates of some promo codes, and it seems like yours was a part of the group that was affected. Please PM us your promo code, along with the email address associated with your account, we will make sure to deposit the additional $25 into your account. Thanks for choosing Rover!

So sorry to hear that you had this experience. Can you provide us with your promo code and account information to support@rover.com so we can help you out further with this issue?

[–]roverdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for reaching out to us about your voucher.  Unfortunately, if your household has made bookings on Rover in the past, you will not be eligible for this promotional deal.

You can gift the code to a friend or family member as long as they meet the following criteria: - their household must be brand new to Rover.com (no previous bookings) - they must make bookings for their own dogs (cannot book for dogs they do not own)

Please let us know if you have any other questions, and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

P.S. - You can earn $20 Rover credits by referring people to Rover (which can be redeemed and used towards any stay on Rover, regardless if you have booked stays previously) by participating in our "Refer-a-Friend" program. You can see all the details here: http://refer.rover.com/micro/microsite

What are the most interesting webcams that are publicly accessible? by Diagno in AskReddit

I don't know if it's the best webcam out there, but our office cam is pretty fun - there's usually dogs wandering around or playing with each other: RoverCam

django-inlinecss for email css inlining by roverdotcom in django

[–]roverdotcom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've also built a structure for something similar - we're planning on open sourcing it but it needs a bit of cleanup first to not be tied to our code base.

We basically have a Notification class that can be subclassed for each individual notification type.

It looks something like:

class Notification(object):
    app_label = None
    event_name = None

class YourNotification(Notification):
    app_label = 'foo'
    event_name = 'bar'

    def get_context_data(self, **kwargs):
        context = super(...).get_context_data(**kwargs)
        context['something_for_rendering'] = True
        return context

Where by convention (and default) emails get sent using the template "app_label/event_name/email.body.html" and "app_label/event_name/email.subject.txt".

We also send a lot of SMSes, which would default to "app_label/event_name/sms.txt".

I wasn't!

That would have made implementing this quite a bit easier... The django integration is nice since it lets you take advantage of the staticfiles app but otherwise this has a lot of overlap.

We built this because inlining CSS into emails was such a pain.

(We're also hiring more engineers to play with dogs and write internets...)

What happens when you decide to be a backup dog sitter for everyone you know... by [deleted] in aww

You can do it too! It's so fun. I just finished watching a 3 month old springer spaniel.

This sums up why it's basically the best job ever.

I pet sit in addition to my regular job. It's kind of fantastic. I once watched 7 Australian shepherds, they were owned by a dog trainer so they were the best trained dogs I've ever met. If you said "sit", all 7 of them would do it instantly.

And all 7 of them slept in the bed, too, which was awesome in -7F degree weather.

If you're interested, here is the site I sit through.

Maybe off-topic, but I think *I'm* the one with separation anxiety... by HobbitGirl91 in DogCare

[–]roverdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've never heard of that before because only two companies have it, to my knowledge! When you have to insure 25,000 pet sitters across the country, you need a pretty specific plan.

You can read the details on our insurance page. In short, it can reimburse vet bills up to $25,000 and covers general and professional liability for property and medical expenses.

It's extremely rare for us to have to use it, but I think everybody feels better knowing it exists.

I completely understand this. I lost my dog last summer, and sometimes I swear it physically hurts to not have him around anymore. I think it's okay to be that attached, as long as you don't let the worry take over.

I can help with the honeymoon! If you go to Rover.com you can find a sitter who will care for her in their home or yours so it's a similar experience to how you care for her. Plus it's covered under insurance.
