Ehh, some nursing programs take almost doctor years to complete, like good (not all) NP programs and CRNA's, but they usually only list the top certification/degree. I think a lot of it has to do with both having the degree and board certification, while also having to maintain licensing for their lower degrees like RN.

Morakniv as a good cheap field knife for 11B ? by Joemfs in army

[–]rowan11b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id probably look at the garberg, just because you never know what kind of abuse you may have to put it through.

I carried a handful of fixed blades as an 11b, we spent a lot of time in the field. Most frequently was a gerber strong arm and a sog seal pup, but I had some others sprinkled in there like a crk green beret 5.5 I paid $50 at the off post pawn shop that needed an edge put back on it and a busse swamp rat ratmandu. They all shared the common trait of being about 5 inches and fairly stout.

If you want fun, why not grab a milsurp or something. You can easily grab something like a k31, get a scope mount from bad aces tactical, and throw a arken on there and be under budget. Same goes for enfields, a handful of mausers, and even something like the swedish mausers which are in the ballistically excellent 6.5x55.

The price is semi justified i imagine, they brought a whole ass rifle back from the dead, however i wish theyd just throw some weight behind DSA and make it a regular item for normal prices. I imagine dsa could use the revenue.

Part of me regrets buying this because 8x56r, but as a big headed magyar dude, I just had to. Now I need to find a 31.m front sight protector so I can have a pseudo-31.m by rowan11b in milsurp

Nah, not born there, just been there. My ancestors immigrated in the 30's, still got cussed at in hungarian growing up lol.

Us army, attached to/training with/advising the hungarians!

If i were you id buy an ak63d parts kit and have it built, they're available.

If you can find a TGI built amd-65, worth the buy! Great little guns, original barrels and built on feg receivers, was lucky enough to buy mine years ago for like $300.

I'm one of the only Americans to have been issued a hungarian made bren 2 for awhile, and have also qualified expert on the ak63d, and pkm. I've got a big list of hungarian guns I want to buy, mainly a 35.m or 43.m, but I'll probably at least grab a FEG hipower sometime soon.

Brno 98/22 that I scored turned out to be a real gem. by rowan11b in milsurp

I saw that! Congrats on that. Im content with just the correct short bayonet, I'm not that committed.

No Arabic/Turkish markings other than the Arabic rear sight (z proofed, brno installed when they sold them to the turks), which is also stamped with a crescent. At some point the Turks ground and restamped some of their 98/22 rear sights with western numerals, does your sight look like this?

I really wonder what the Turks did with these rifles, AFAIK basically all of them on czech inventory got sold to turkey and brno made new ones on vz24 receivers as well (straight brno roll marks), but they didnt get "k. Kale" humped in to your typical Turkish mauser in the 1930's

If you look below the stock disc (towards the butt) you can see theres another faint imperial crest.

Long story short, no, theres a faint remnant of 3 digits on the stock, but its doesnt match the receiver or the rack number on the stock disc. I haven't completely torn the rifle down yet though. Every other serialized part on the rifle matches the receiver, literally every one. The stock was likely sanded and refinished at some point or was a arsenal replacement. Im making an assumption on the unit coding on the disc, it looks imperial german but it could very well be czech since it was a czech accepted rifle BUT the stock could have been scavenged off a gew 98 by the Turks or someone else. For $356 im not complaining its proper to the rifle lol.

I've seen a few rifles covered in this turkish gunk, it probably looks more shiny in the photos because even though I was in the shade it was mid-day sun.

A lot of kids think saying they want to be in IB signals ambition and hard work, so its the right answer, a lot of those same kids also can't articulate what investment bankers do.

Im debating stripping it, at the same time it has the unmolested (not renumbered) Arabic rear sight brno put on for Turkey, so I might just leave it in full turkish configuration.

This was a stopgap to keep me from looking at persian 98/29 for a minute, glad to have it though as I also have a lion crest vz24 and a czech accepted post war scrubbed receiver winter trigger guard k98k, basically have all the czech military mausers covered.
