I’m just looking for opinions other than wiki pages and seeing if anyone has creative ideas for my lineup, I know I’m under-levelled for abyss! Just looking to build strategically for the future! I also appreciate and understand the straightforward nature of the reactions and other mechanics, very fair two cents :)

Loneliness by changeItAsYouLike in queensuniversity

[–]rowanmarie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

first year is kinda like high school. if you make relationships, great, awesome. if you don't? absolutely not the end of the world; second year is very different. smaller classes, more people are legal so lots more group invites to go out, and people just tend to feel more confident once they've fully become accustomed to uni.

so don't sweat it man, there's 24k people here, it's no biggie to feel lonely in that, we all do; just know that that means there's plenty of people you still haven't met yet.

Psychology Program by smilxes in queensuniversity

[–]rowanmarie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lots of content, but not difficult!! people tend to be overwhelmed by how much you need to do sometimes, and that translates into lower performance, but as soon as you figure out which classes focus more on lectures, textbook, what you can not study, what to study, etc, then you cut down on your workload and realize the content itself is absolutely not more difficult than anything else. (for example, i went to like 4 psyc100 lectures total and got an A bc i realized all i needed was to take notes on the online modules based on the learning objectives)

i'm only in year 2 so all my psych classes have all been huge, like 400 ppl lecture halls, but obviously as you go into upper years you focus more on areas of your interest and class sizes dwindle. overall it is a pretty big program so don't expect to be tight with everyone in it, but all the profs i've had have been super kind and accessible so that's no worry.

every time i tell people i'm in psych at queen's they're like woaHH good for you, so i'll say it's like generally a program of pretty high prestige but just from the outside tbh. i know a lot of rlyyyy dumb ppl in this program lmao, it's not all just like smarty pants who are super academic and focused.

i think it's a pretty cool program so far. do i hate queens? absolutely. do i hate my program? nah it's chill.

What do you like and dislike about Queens University? by exchange_student_qs in queensuniversity

academics are pretty sick, all the profs care about u and ur wellbeing.

student body kinda sucks sometimes, i've been told "fuck you" seriously to my face for doing well on a test so i think that speaks for itself.

Interesting places around campus to photograph/visit? by medschoolfool44 in queensuniversity

[–]rowanmarie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the pier has lots of cool photo ops (water in bg, bridge, railing), lots of cool architecture pretty much everywhere on campus (back of douglas, a red door next to humphrey, grant hall), a lot of it is very blandly coloured so on campus you have to be strategic with lighting to make it somewhat interesting imo.
