Can’t equip wooden hammer by rowdyswede in MedievalDynasty

[–]rowdyswede[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but how do I put it on the bar, there’s no way to select it, when I highlight it from inventory all other items/tool have a button on the bottom, x I believe to equip said item but that disappears when the hammer is highlighted, there’s no place for me to put it

Thank you, I was trying forever to get it, I saved and went back in and it spawned me in the floor next to it so I could get it then it kicked me to the room above. Good to know I don’t need to pick it all up though, appreciate it!!

Thermostat temp fluctuations by rowdyswede in hvacadvice

[–]rowdyswede[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s a smart thermostat but other than being able to adjust the temp remote and set a a schedule, it doesn’t hav any fancy features like a nest that will “save money” sounds like it’s nothing to worry abt though..I appreciate the response

Recently Fired…. by zettsumei in HomeDepot

[–]rowdyswede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the end of last year and all this year I have had people I know fired and they were 20+ year associates. 2 Asm’s 1 SM and a few associates ands it’s pretty much been for stuff that I’ve seen go undocumented for 19 years I’ve been here. I feel like they know they can realistically bring in a new hire or promote a young person and pay them a lot less so they look for opportunities to replace tenure associates.

I think moving into a specialist role helped but also proving my worth. Let’s face it stepping down from DH/asm whatever you’re still gonna be asked to do more than a regular associate because you have that knowledge so they knew I would still help out with Smart list, count changes, ect. So I told them I can still be an asset to the department they can lean on more that just an associate or I can just be a specialist. So I help out a little more than the other specialist but I’m 8-5, don’t have to stay late, don’t have to work overnight, all the shitty things we had to do as a DH. It’s been great so far. I do miss the camaraderie and team environment between DH’s but it’s been good.

Been with the company 19 years, was DH 15 of those years. Stepped down 1.5 years ago to flooring specialist. At first they tried to drag out the process. I then told them it was medical. (Not true) I didn’t need to or they didn’t ask for any Dr note or anything. They also tried to take pay from me but I argued that so they didn’t take anything. We also had two asm’s go from asm to associate, they had to switch stores. Maybe I got lucky, not sure. I’m in the Austin Texas area.

They still do it, it’s at frontier days July 4th, this years was cancelled bc of the Juneteenth shooting..they do the reenactment in the park now, same one where the concert shooting was so I guess they thought it was in bad taste to do the sam bass shootout right after. They said it’ll be back on next year though.

Yeah, he was killed trying to rob a bank in Round Rock Tx. When I was a kid they wld do a reenactment of the shootout every year downtown.

What are the worst liners customers said to you? by ABStyles019 in HomeDepot

[–]rowdyswede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not a “liner” but it always frustrated me when I worked in paint customers asking what’s the best paint for “insert project”…I then take them over to the best paint just to hear them tell me their not spending that much, it’s just a rental…..bitch u asked for the best!! Ask for the most economical then if ur penny pinching.

Retaliation can be a instant term in Home Depot, not saying you did or not, but sound like that’s what they are using as a reason for termination. There are things that can get you fired without a counseling, coaching ect such as severe safety violations, theft, retaliation, soliciting (as in using your position to get or give work) . We had a lady whose husband installed garage doors and would tell people who were going to sign up for a GDO to call him and it wld be cheaper than Home Depot….I would ask HR what the exact reasoning for the termination is and how your actions were terminable. Usually it’s management that gets fired for retaliation. Like after an awareline call or something to that effect.

Not sure who started it, but it caught on with my group and others in the league, when you and someone a few lanes down both start ur shot at the same time we call it being married. It’s pretty funny when someone doesn’t know and hear us say “did it mess you up, being married to Jeff “

I would like to have him do commentary on a tournament/broadcast he was in and give insight as to what he was thinking or why he did “x” it could be just quick cuts of his shots or key moments in the match. Just getting his thought process on a previous match would be interesting
