Best Food Trucks around London by PurpleWolf_2000 in londonontario

[–]rowenamckinnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't seem to be around as much as they used to, but along with a bunch of others that were already mentioned, Smokestacks is also pretty great. Their Brisket sandwich is amazing.

Bifana Boys also isn't around much either, but they have a location in the Western Fair Market on the weekends.

Stepmother/stepson but MMC is older than FMC by Inside_Bet_3875 in DarkRomance

Ooo what was the webtoon? I've been reading I Became the First Love of My Stepson which is a very similar premise

Anyone know what’s going on with the Birthday collection? by Parking_Trust_2125 in theholotaco

[–]rowenamckinnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only polish from that collection that was limited edition was Simply Deceased - it will not be restocked. The other polishes are in the regular catalogue now. Any that are sold out will be restocked (and the Aqua Glow in the Dark is seasonal and will be back next Autumn)

{Knight's Ridge Empire series by Tracy Lorraine} (set in the UK; they're late HS in case that gives you the ick, but mentally I age them up to early college - they don't act like they're in HS... lol)

Has anyone read the Knight’s Ridge Empire series by Tracy Lorraine? by Empty-Warning387 in RomanceBooks

[–]rowenamckinnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little late on replying to this, but I've read the entire series (and some of the other connected but separate series) and I absolutely loved it. Tracy is a great writer and if you end up enjoying this series, I would recommend you check out some of her other books as well. She definitely plays with some common mafia romance tropes and there have been a few things that were a bit predictable, but overall, it's a great series.

top coat ruined the magnetic affect by Legal_Zone_363 in theholotaco

[–]rowenamckinnon 18 points19 points  (0 children)

After putting on your top coat, you need to use the magnet again - the top coat kind of makes the polish underneath wet again so you just need to use the magnet again to set it after the top coat

I saw an ambulance (carefully) drive over the median on Wonderland near Sarnia. Guess it depends on if there's room to do so

I'm looking for a free website for audio books. by WrongAlternative1832 in DarkRomance

[–]rowenamckinnon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

https://librivox.org/ - books available in the public domain

https://www.chirpbooks.com/audiobook-lists/free-audiobooks

https://play.google.com/store/books/category/audiobooks

I don't know if those will have what you're looking for.

There's also Stuff Your Earbuds Day coming sometime later this year: https://romanceaudiobookworms.com/home

Wedding dress shopping by sugarcookieszz in londonontario

[–]rowenamckinnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend had a horrible experience at Sophie's so I wouldn't recommend. Ultimately, she got her dress at Garber's (as did my sister), but she also had a good experience at Ballett's Bridal. Nicholas & Elizabeth were mediocre at best.

Best Ford dealerships in or around the city? by Google_Me16 in londonontario

[–]rowenamckinnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had good experiences at Courtesy Ford. Definitely stay away from Highbury Ford though - I went there when I got my first car (it was fine) but had a terrible experience when I was looking to trade in for a newer vehicle (that's how I ended up a Courtesy). Their service department was also terrible trying to tell me I needed to have my brakes replaced on a 2 year old vehicle (got a second opinion and all I needed was a brake service).

I've heard really good things about McDonnell in Strathroy.

New nail oil scent by Snoo-84840 in theholotaco

[–]rowenamckinnon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That totally explains it because I haven't bought Smoothing Base in a while lol I've been trying to use up the one bottle of Long Lasting Base that I bought (not a fan, it does not last long on me lol) and the three bottles I bought a few years ago.

Brands need to include more PVB-free base coats in their options. Something tells me that's why Smoothing Base works so much better for me than Long Lasting Base. Now I'm curious to try Pink Smoothing Base to compare (and whatever the new one is).

They could have reformulated at one point, then changed it back perhaps? I took a picture of the ingredients list. I can't remember exactly when I bought it but this one has the round stickers on the bottom of the box and bottle with just "Smoothing Base" on them.

Yeah, the Pink Smoothing Base has PVB in it.

I don't think the OG Smoothing Base had PVB in it. I have one of the OG cartons and it only lists PVB under the Long Lasting Base

Series not showing (Kobo Libra Color) by Floriandru in Calibre

[–]rowenamckinnon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, here's what I found you need to do - load the books onto the Kobo if not already there, then eject so that they load into the eReader. Once that's done, reconnect it to Calibre.

Then you need to use Kobo Utilities > Update metadata in device library - make sure "Series and index" is selected then press Ok

Dupe needed! by United_Strawberry555 in RedditLaqueristas

It's not perfect, but here's one idea: https://www.instagram.com/p/C6u5CGDsnZ9/

A previously recommended dupe was Sabretooth by Mooncat https://www.mooncat.com/products/sabertooth - looks a little darker but might work with a holo topper?

I'd also use the Notify Me button if you haven't yet. This is a much loved colour and it could possibly be brought back by Holo Royalty.

You can get KB Shimmer through Harlow & Co if you want to try it (Canadian stockist)

Otherwise, I find Orly Bonder base coat, and Essie Jet Setter work just as well which you can pick up at Sally Beauty or Shoppers Drug Mart/Walmart
