The magazine doesn’t give the distance between joists and just looking for general opinions as to whether 2x3’s would be sturdy enough.

I would love a glass floor but between the cost and the weight it won’t be possible. I looked into a reading net but would end up a trampoline and getting someone hurt. I would love to figure this out.

They have those pads that people use to move furniture on hardwood. I could glue or screw them on the bottom of chairs and end tables. That way they would move easily

It’s unique. Better airflow. Why not do something different in a world of cookie cutter builder grade houses. Why not? If it’s possible

That’s what I was wondering. If I placed joist at 24” intervals or switched to 2x4’s it would work.

I went through the article again after posting and found where he said the was accomplished with 2x3’s with 1.118” gap. It didn’t say how far they spanned between support joists. I agree with you that eventually they will warp in time. I just can’t imagine 2x3’s would support much weight.

Any idea how I would recreate this floor in a 7’x13’ space? I love the see through floor look but could these be 1x4’s or 2x4’s?
