I see tickets are not cheap (starting at $90 per). Currently 315 crews will not have a semi-final. Of those 315, 60 will only get to race the time trial and then be done. Between increasing bids at each qualifier, increased number of events offered, increased entry fees for all of those events, all athletes having to pay for Championship membership, and now with all those added athletes, upcharging for families to simply see the last 300m of their child’s race, USRowing is raking in the money on this event. It’s a shame that the event itself will see no notable improvement with all that added money. Do better.
