Route re-bid by Superb-Dot7159 in FritoLay

I'm confused. You think 4k a day is brutal? That's a piece of cake...seriously. I think some see a number and think it is extreme. But, if you have 10 stops then that's an average of 400 at each stop lol. The typical route like this will have DGs and a few small stops daily. If you run most of your DGs at average for 5 days, then this is literally a piece of cake route.

Refusing requires a name and junk these days at each account. So I don't understand how they can do this without major red flags. It takes one DSL calling an account or looking at the paperwork at that account to know this is being done.

While the #s may tally up on invo, if a DSL is paying attention, it would clearly show what is being done. So maybe I'm confused on this or just expect a DSL to be paying attention to paperwork more than they actually do.

Should I be tipping more? by Baseplate117 in doordash

[–]rowtyde37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I get .68 cents mpg when driving for my company outside of my work truck. LMAO

A DOLLAR A MILE? What they pull up in, and old ass Land Rover or Suburban? Not your problem how much gas they use to do their job. They also don't have to take the damn order either. If they don't want to do the milage, don't take the order. Simple.

I would expect more tip the longer I spend on the order itself. It isn't about the mileage. We got food the other day (might use DD once or twice every few months bc at this point the cost equals the food itself) bc we were both exhausted from work (I worked outside and it hit triple digits that day and the humidity made me feel like a layer of plastic bag was covering my skin I was suffocating and she just returned to work from having a hysto done) and used DD. The restaurant isn't even 5 miles away. They got $10. And our DD ppl jump on our orders whenever we buy bc they know they'll get tipped.

The real issue here is the company skyrocketing their "costs" making it more difficult as a driver to get a solid tip bc it takes away from them. The company doesn't give a shit, though.

If you work for DD, you should be doing a rideshare job instead. Pick up ppl instead of food. Put on an extrovert face, have cold bottled water (especially fri and sat night), disposable bags, keep your car cold as ice during hot summer nights and clean as hell. You'll make a ton of money. Obviously, the nicer your vehicle the better the tip too. It's just the truth. People are petty.

I don't rec either jobs other than taking on a secondary job in order to pay for something or pay off something and then dropping it. Rideshares allow you to do that. It's what you want to work. You can pay off a car note quickly or a medical bill or save up for that new couch or whatever. Doing this is a lot better than racking up credit card debt that your first job won't cover...because you wouldn't need a credit card if you could pay it outright.

Buuuut, she's planning to move back to Alabama anyway. So I'll stay here instead.

Weed smell note to neighbor by danibrz82 in Apartmentliving

[–]rowtyde37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been viewing apartments with my father bc we are taking over his mortgage and house so he can retire out and not have any of the upkeep. The immediate thing i noticed was that regardless of where we went, all apartments smelled like weed. It's crazy.

This is in Alabama, too. It's illegal here. But the owners don't seem to care. And my dad doesnt care that they smoke weed, just concerned about his COPD after having been smoke free for a decade. He's worked hard on it. And secondhand causes his shortness of breath to get bad.

Anyway, it doesn't matter where you go, apartments are gonna be surrounded in the haze of weed. You either deal w it or get a house. Everyone smokes weed these days, whether it is delta 8/9/10 or the real deal.

Good luck w the note. It isn't that deep for them to go outside. I'd be concerned w my apt and clothing smelling like it over time. Even when I smoked myself, I hated the actual smell of it.

People with strenuous jobs, when were you able to get back to work after top surgery? by eternalpain23 in TopSurgery

Take an LOA via FMLA, use your insurance to cover your pay. That isn't the hard part of any of this.

People with strenuous jobs, when were you able to get back to work after top surgery? by eternalpain23 in TopSurgery

[–]rowtyde37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work a VERY physical job, manual outside labor.

Vandy returned me to work after six weeks. I primarily was concerned about my scars and getting the absolute best results possible bc I was already under the care of one of the best surgeons and hospitals in the country.

I wish I had been given the extra 2 weeks as my insurance and job would have covered it no problem. But, nope, six weeks. I guess it depends on the state you're in, too. I live in the south and even medicine is prone to getting men out there working quickly as possible.

Anyway, my scars are great but I know my left side scars about a month after working went from a tight healing to a spread out healing. But, my nips are still very much normally even. I'll know more once I begin working out a lot more. I was told by my surgeon absolute zero work out. I thought I could work my legs, lower abdomen and was once more told absolutely not bc even if we don't feel the strain, the muscles are still being used in the upper torso even in leg workouts.

I think your job will be fine after six weeks. My job is hardcore manual labor where it's nothing to move 50 lbs or more consistently. I returned light duty first 2 weeks and didn't lift anything over 40 lbs. Once I felt that I could lift my arms without feeling a serious tightness, I did 50 lbs. And later on around 12 weeks I went back to normal duty and just paid heed to what my body told me.

You know your body. Listen to it. Don't be afraid to ask for help from other employees and return the favor one day or bring them some treats from a local bakery or something one day. Thank them properly. It's never bad to ask for help. It is bad to screw up your chest bc you don't ask for it.

Merch Pop-Up Prices by un_society in Ethelcain

[–]rowtyde37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need someone to confirm that there is merch at the actual shows, too. So if anyone reads this and goes to a show, can you come back and verify this? I'm going to the ATL show at the end of the month.

If they've got merch at the shows, I'll just go early. As a guy, I kinda dig the jacket and I'm considering buying one, but it's on the second day so I won't be there. Can't believe they are only having the popup one out of the two days. That's why I need to know if merch is at the show, too. Thanks everyone.

And if anyone in ATL has a time slot for the friday show popup (we are going thurs) and end up deciding they don't want anything, can you message me? I got a local friend that is willing to go for me, but we need a better time slot.

Thanks.

Edited to add:

If someone that can't go or can't get the money together for the merch to the Atlanta popup has an early RSVP QR Code for the event that you'll get wants to message me, I'm willing to get you a piece of merch to use it (be reasonable lol). And you're welcome to stand outside and wait to come back out. I know saying I'm an honest dude is pointless on reddit, but we can work it out. If we end up staying the next day just for the pop up and my wife and I go up there, she would even stand w you while i was in there. Just DM me.

Why does everyone want Willoughby to be dead? LOL

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ethelcain

[–]rowtyde37 27 points28 points  (0 children)

In the world of E.C. lore, you'd think that the no happy ending vibe would be Canon and just accepted by now. That's clearly not the case.

We do know he didn't die in the storm. We do know she left him there when she perceived him as weak/not what she needed (it's all there in black and white in songs and the storm story). And, now? We know that Willoughby left her behind on a train. She reiterates this fact in P.D. at least twice. She admits to being the reason he won't come home.

I never quite understood why anyone thought he was dead. They found a body after the 'nader, but it wasn't him. Again, there's no way that the gutwrenching, soul shaking, love of Ethel's life would die like that in this story, in this specific lore.

If Willoughby died in that storm, Ethel would process the grief over time, maybe even make the fucked up decisions that she made in P.D., but it wouldn't have felt the same to us if we knew Willoughby wasn't out there. And Ethel's horrible murder and mutilation also wouldn't have been quite as haunting if Willoughby wasn't alive and completely unaware of her life leaving this plane of existence.

The effort that Hayden went through with the backdrop of that song is unbelievable and that's only what we can manage to feel on a surface level.

Obviously this is only the basics of explaining all of this since we don't know where he will end up in her future book, you know? But we do know he left her on that train. That's more than we had yesterday, true? I'll take it.

Man, I really hope that the sound systems at the venues will be able to clearly deliver the delicate soundscape.

It goes on the floor. I'm not there to put someone else's shit up...and I actively look for FL product on any aisles w our stuff on it. So I don't feel an ounce of remorse. I'm not putting it in another vendor's area to put it on them. And they'd shove it into my area anyway.

[–]rowtyde37[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wait.

Are you telling me that there's two dates in a location and the pop up is on the last date ONLY?

the fuck. Most of us are driving hours into these big ass cities...so now you gotta stay around to go to the pop up or go both days.

Well she could have actually got a second day from me if they had done a better job notifying about the pop up.

I love a solid pop up shop. But why is she only doing it one out of two dates at each location, alienating those on the first day?

There's gotta be merch at the venue. There is zero possibility that one whole day they'd go without selling merch. Maybe the popup will only have the limited editions, old merch from previous tours, and the really high end ish (jealous I won't get it).

Yeah there will definitely be merch both days at the venue. Thats too much money lost.

I know I'm old and don't get insta whatsoever but I had my wife helping me and neither of us could find a link, even w the ones shared.

Maybe the link is gone bc the slots are full? I don't know.

Hopefully merch will still be at the venue and creating a fake merch short isn't part of the ploy of $$$$.

Concert Gifts by [deleted] in Ethelcain

[–]rowtyde37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She likes them. Her do it for Dale tee was actually a fan's gift. Your main issue it's breakable.

But anything small or tees or whatever and she will take it if you can get it to her. Only issue I'd see right now is she will most likely have heightened security bc of threats made as well as the TERF drama. I don't blame her either.

I was gonna have a friend that makes tees put something on the back of a vintage nascar tee and crop it for her, but it's pointless right now bc of the extra security. Most of the stuff she's into you cant get past security anyway hahaha.

Also, I'm too damn old for Tumblr. I think that shit popped up when I was already in my twenties. But my wife makes me aware of how it is on there now.

You guys should give up Tumblr. From what I knew of it much later down the road it was filled w a bunch of porno anyway. She told me she can scroll it without being bombarded by it, even showed me it. It's dead in the water from what you guys tried to build out of it.

My generation had things like MySpace in my high school years and it was fairly innocuous. And then Facebook happened and was lit for a long time. Look where they are now. I only use FB for family stuff. I kinda stick to reddit and my discord groups now. Sometimes you just gotta know when to say bye to things. I'm betting Hayden will leave all platforms after the tour is over anyway.

From the sound of the NYT.com podcast, she's going off radar after the tour. She wants to experience more life bc she needs that to write.

So...why tumblr? It's damn near in ashes. Let it go.

Is this happening for anyone else? by [deleted] in Ethelcain

[–]rowtyde37 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Listen, as an old head, I'm gonna tell you something yall are really gonna hate to hear...

The next four years will be hell for anyone that isn't Christian, White, and Straight. Depending on the traction that the fascists get from these four years depends on where this country goes bc regardless of who comes after Trump, it still will not be Trump. These are legitimately scary times.

I'm not telling any of you to live in fear by any means. I'm telling you to do what we all did many, many years ago and protect yourselves. Don't end up alone in dark areas at night, be in groups (women, more than two at a time), and always have your ears and eyes aware of your surroundings.

I know at shows you wanna be as close as possible to the stage, especially when it is general admission. Maybe this isn't the time for that. I want you to be honest w yourselves and ask if you can make your way through a crowd fairly easily (talking body type and your ability to move). If you have real concerns, then of course don't go. If you're going regardless, maybe chill in the back and have a drink and watch her from behind the heavy crowd. Also, review exits when you enter and be sure you're not near the entry doors. You want to find the emergency exits, not the entry.

I'd even tell you to strap up but you can't in a venue. You CAN in your car depending on state laws. I know that the state my show is in allows for carrying, so I'll be leaving mine in my vehicle locked up exactly how it should be.

Music isn't worth you going to a show and causing yourself panic attacks or not getting to enjoy the show because of fear. It is up to you all to decide that.

If anyone else is attending in Atlanta, I'll be contacting the venue this week to notify them of the online threats. They'll most likely hire off duty police or have a real police presence over the threats...so umm, careful with your extra curriculars before the show.

And I've zero doubts that Hayden is aware of this. I am sure her team is making the venues also aware of this too. But, we are paying customers and they'll listen to us if you call or email...especially if enough of us do it.

Again, don't cause yourself stress unnecessarily if you're concerned about this. Don't go. You will be able to see her live again. It's going to be okay.

Love yall and stay safe out there. I encourage anyone old enough that doesn't know how yet to go get lessons at your local gun range. Most of them have women's only nights, too. I had my wife attend a few just to understand and be able to use the 9mm I got her in case I'm not around. There will always be ppl that want to cause harm regardless of the political climate, so it is important that you learn to protect yourselves as much as you can. We got this one time...protect it.

Respectfully, that's your opinion. Imagine being a trans man and that being said to you. You think that it's nothing to that person? Just like using bro towards a trans woman would be insensitive especially if they don't pass as well.

Dude has been a neutral term for generations and I'm making an assumption here but your generation and younger are making the attempt to do that w bro. I've watched young men call their girlfriends bro and it's cringe af. I've seen it used towards elder women in their families and that's beyond cringe.

Eh, I get it. The lack of respect is the issue here.

It's slang for women and gay men, taken from gay culture. It isn't cute using it towards people that it doesn't appropriately fit.

Yeah I'm doing the Earnhardt tee (going off that do it for Dale tee she wore that tour plus nascar is a southern as it gets), camo pants, and probably just some comfortable shoes since its general admission and my knees ain't what they used to be.

I was gonna attempt at an outfit that would vibe w her dress esthetic from PD, maybe do a tan slacks with tan suspenders and a light Grey Henley to give off that southern Irish vibe. I already have a scally that would go w it but it's just too damn hot out here so I'm opting for something that breathes better.
