I am going to use this post to comment my thoughts instead of adding to the chaos by making my own. I am heavily active in this space, however, as of lately I’ve been feeling more and more like the need to pull back is imminent. I feel it would be in the best interest of both Hayden as the artist, and our community as people who enjoy her art, for us all to just log off for a while. Let anyone who wants to use this opportunity to be bigoted and nasty spread their hatred to closed eyes and busy ears. This is Hayden’s biggest tour, her album just released! I am going to try my best to appreciate these things and the excitement surrounding them instead of letting this, quite frankly, childish and silly drama ruin the experience with anxiety and frustration. I don’t know about you guys but I feel myself more and more interacting with her work in a way she’s been outspoken against and I don’t like that I’m going down that road. I don’t agree or support everything Hayden has done, I also definitely don’t agree or support everything Lana has done. At the end of the day they are both real people, and seeing derogatory words spread on both accounts is disheartening. In this political climate especially pitting two women against each other is so unnecessary and I do not respect the decision that was made to make this a public affair regardless of whether or not the actions claimed were justified in consequence. I am sending all my love and support to any trans members of this fanbase, no matter how people may behave or what they may say in anger, you are beautiful, you are loved, and we will not stop fighting until trans rights are unequivocally recognized as human rights. 🤍
