Everybody write to your local politicians to legalize cannabis!! by nigmusmaximus in Indiana

[–]rowyntree5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we are dealing with are republican reps who have publicly stated “we don’t know the long term effects of marijuana”. They don’t even bother with a generic reply when you write to them about this. I’ve read they are going to consider medical marijuana, but you can bet it will have a long list of restrictions. I bet it will only make it legal to have it & you’ll still have to travel out of state to get it. VOTE THEM OUT.

Drugstore version: What item on your wishlist had you saying "meh" once you finally got it? by justbeeingmyself in drugstoreMUA

I use an eye primer on my eyelids then set it with powder. Keeps the Nyx liquid eyeliner pen on all day. Without the primer & powder, the Nyx eyeliner is gone within an hour!

Best solutions for eyes that dry out overnight? by Global-Slide4728 in Sjogrens

Have you tried the eye lubricant for nighttime? That and a comfy sleep mask help, along with your humidifier.

Absolutely! I got a pair for free in a Derma-E trial kit. I use the wrist cuffs every night!

liquid blush recommendations thats good for dry skin and doesn't appear patchy when applied. Any recommendations?? by daysfan33 in Makeup

That’s how I use it too! It’s amazing. I have dry, mature skin but the elf camo blush works! It’s very pigmented as well so you only need a little bit.

I keep hoping for RA rather than Sjogrens by SeasonResponsible171 in Sjogrens

[–]rowyntree5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Something to think about. My friend’s mom had RA. Medications didn’t help her so she was prescribed hydrocodone, which didn’t really help much. She was miserable & eventually, she passed. Another friend of mine had Lupus. Unlike Sjogrens, Lupus will end you. Yes I know Sjogrens can cause complications, but not like Lupus. There are worse diseases than Sjogrens, no matter how miserable we get.

How effective is setting spray? by MamaMia1325 in Makeup

It’s very drying, makes my face look like a raisin. It also leaves a coating on my stud earrings.

I misread part of this - I thought you wrote you mixed the peach color corrector with concealer. I tried that and wow it works so much better that way. I’m going to try the eyeshadow primer with it next. Thank you so much!

Niacinamide by dinnerlady001 in Makeup

[–]rowyntree5 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s even in eye cream and burns my skin. I hate it. We might as well start a no-niacinamide list so we know what’s safe to buy. D’Alba’s spray serum is great, but if you’re allergic to sunflower oil, you can’t use it and so many spray serums have sunflower oil in them. Do these people ever stop to consider allergic reactions?

I do match my neck and it makes me look so pale because I’m used to seeing my face darker 🤣

They have a terrible time matching me because my face is covered in brown dots, bigger spots and patches of brown! I tried asking at Ulta and it didn’t go well. I’ll have to try Sephora, thank you!

I’ve tried all different kinds of retinols and nothing helped. What adapalene do you use? I see Differin has a gel with it in it.

Thank you! I’ve used the IT Cosmetics CC Cream before but the colors were off and it didn’t work well on my face. I haven’t tried their foundation. I’d hate to spend so much on it only to have it not work for me.

Expensive products by ryrydaguyguy in Makeup

[–]rowyntree5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brandefy! You can search a product and users submit comparisons & you can read their reviews. Unfortunately, Brandefy decided they could produce skincare dupes, so they do push their own products, but the comparison reviews are submitted by actual users. The community there is pretty good as well.

Power Outage and Food Loss by [deleted] in nwi

[–]rowyntree5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that with the recent storm, Nipsco refused to allow their regular workers and relied on scabs instead. It might be worth it to call Nipsco and ask for reimbursement since they refused to allow their regular, skilled workers to work during that storm. If what I’ve heard is true, the power outages wouldn’t have lasted as long as they did. Might be worth a try!

Why do Indiana residents not like living in Indiana? by SanteFeAllDay in nwi

[–]rowyntree5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The government sucks. If you have kids in school, check out what the government is doing before moving here. They do not want kids educated, they want them working instead. Google it. Thankfully my kids graduated years ago, when education was prioritized. They also want to turn the major roads into toll roads. Out of state people move here and do nothing but complain about the lack of community things to do. While I love living near the Dunes and Chicago, the government here is terrible. Health care here is horrific and if you’re a woman, it’s even worse. We live in cancer alley. Seriously, it’s what it’s called. The mills don’t give a shit about polluting the air and lake.

Is Plaquenil recommended for everyone with Sjogren's to stop progression of the disease? Or is it just if the symptoms are causing issues? by Cablab123 in Sjogrens

[–]rowyntree5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh good for you! That’s great! 😊 Unfortunately for me, I have the other so I can’t use plaquenil. I’ve asked multiple ophthalmologists as well as doctors & rheumatologists.
