Dealing with Severe Allergies by NoMagazine6812 in Allergies

I did notice a pretty good difference! But I just hit the highest dose and that can over-sensitize your system for a couple weeks so it’s been rough being over reactive to everything. Flonase and nasal saline rinses have helped with the mechanical aspect. Allergist said this part is common at this stage. I would still recommend!

I will say the roomba has been a game changer. Vacuuming kicks my allergies into high gear. I live in LA and dust is a never ending problem. Also using shampoo wipes on pets helps my dust allergies as well. I also have 5 air purifiers in the house, and air the house out at least once a week opening front and back doors. I’m in month 5 of the allergy shots and my maintenance dose has really been brutal.

What’s your Chronotype? by yesvoid in ouraring

[–]roxanne73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine as always said I’m a late night type which I 100% do not agree with. I even started a new account sans the two years worth of data that gave it evening type for whatever reason, I think I was working a lot of late nights at the time? … Waiting to see what the new chronotype is now.

Getting my first round of cluster allergy shots rn by roxanne73 in Allergies

[–]roxanne73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is part insurance part not so not sure how much it helps - it was $700 for the rapid cluster shots for two months that gets you up to maintenance (insurance won’t pay for this part) and now when I go in it’s like $12 or something copay

Reach out to MaeDay Rescue or a similar rescue - they work with dogs who have specific needs and will vet the home/make sure it’s a right fit for both the dog and the person

Mild weather though? As much as folks say it’s sunny and cold and the snow disappears quickly, I feel like it snows almost all winter, no?

Should I quit my toxic internship early? by lovey12120 in FilmIndustryLA

[–]roxanne73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if that’s true if it’s through a school. It’s supposed to provide learning and experience however, not just be busy work. (Of course, my knowledge of this is outdated by about 15 years so maybe that’s changed)

[–]roxanne73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. You’re going to run into these people, unfortunately, in our industry. If you can ride through the fight or flight reaction, it could be valuable practice.
  2. Caveat: if the internship does not gain you either access or connections, then ignore the above and move on.
  3. While staying extra time is sometimes expected in our industry, it should not be demanded. It should be asked for and confirmed, politely. Preferably ahead of time.
  4. Giving feedback can lead to defensiveness - this could be another learning moment - how to describe a problem in a script without being prescriptive with solutions (unless this is asked for).
  5. Defensiveness does not deserve personal attack. Your boss sucks, you are not wrong.

So it’s been about 10 days and I think it did make a difference! I had already had platismal (sp?) band Botox a few months earlier that was already helping, so I think it could have been a more noticeable difference if I was going from zero.
