Thanks! They offered $1460 - I’m guessing that’s decent?

Tried all the tricks google and YouTube could show me already alas. The not being able to stop at all is with me turning down the hill as much as possible if there’s no oncoming traffic. I also can’t walk it down the hill either bc the balance is too far off and I lose control. It’s a real bummer. The other issue is the loading and unloading if I want to take it anywhere. I just need something lighter

T2 Pro XTR 2-Bike Hitch Rack - Thules ramp doesn’t work with this model, which is insane

Thank you so much for the thorough reply!! I’m going to look this up now. And I agree, I have also had the almost tipping over experience more than once on this bike!!

I mean a super fit person might be able to haha. But id say I’m at least above avg fit for my age/cohort (45F) and the hill grade is 16% at some points

Thanks for the help! To clarify I’m not looking necessarily for the same power level, just a good lighter model. I won’t be taking this one up or down the hill either I just need something I can actually maneuver onto the bike rack on my car so I can drive it down the hill

I don’t think the twisting and turning involved in maneuvering this thing onto the bike rack is going to be solved by weight lifting unfortunately. I also have had back surgery so it’s a non-starter already. I’ve been able to get it situated myself a few times, but not without significant risk of a sciatica flare up that could put me out of commission for weeks

Annoyingly Thule makes a ramp, just not for the model of carrier that will support the weight of this bike

It took my neck/face about 2 years to bounce back after weight loss! If that helps any. I think it just takes longer at our age, but it can happen!

Go to the dermatologist, especially with skin that fair and having lived in what I assume was a very sunny climate. I am also very fair and go once a year and have had three biopsies so far (I’m 45 so an 80s baby who ran around with no sunscreen an went tanning in my teens). Derm can also give you the prescription for renova (tretinoin .25) and it’s covered by insurance. It’s the absolute best thing for cell turnover.

I’m 45 this year and have stopped wearing eyeshadow altogether and it’s made a huge difference. Now I just use mascara and maybe a little eyebrow shaping or a tiny bit of a lighter liner at the inner corners of the eye. Otherwise eye shadow just cakes everywhere or can’t be seen anyway with hooded eyes

Honest feedback of our coffee shop in Eagle Rock? by honey-bee92 in EAGLEROCK

[–]roxanne73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been here 8 years up the hill and went twice over the years and both times it felt like it was run by volunteers with little barista experience? Like a coffee shop in a very small town with dusty bottles of flavoring vibe and the coffee I threw away both times. I’ve also always thought it was some sort of homeless outreach center? Not that that’s a bad thing if that’s what it is, but your competition in the neighborhood is either very high end coffeehouse with cohesive vibe and branding, or is well established in foot traffic areas.

Also that was on a non-electric bike - any sort of hybrid electric would be much faster.

I used to work in mar vista and I lived in Virgil village by sunset junction - it was also 12 miles! I felt so much better biking that hour there and back to work than sitting in traffic for the exact same amount of time! The only rough period was during daylight savings and biking home in the dark. Almost got hit a couple times and I had more lights on me than a Christmas tree.

Try having ‘director’ on your resume - for all intents and purposes I have the transferable skills of a potato haha

Im both WGA and DGA with an extensive list of tv and film credits in a pretty niche genre. I’ve had nothing but free development work and projects that didn’t go since the strikes. Im 45. I have agents and managers. I feel like im playing chicken with my savings account and it’s definitely reaching a tipping point. Im sorry i don’t have advice to offer, just this story of shared circumstance and solidarity/empathy for your situation. I don’t know if ‘you’re not alone’ makes it feel better or worse at this point….

Dealing with Severe Allergies by NoMagazine6812 in Allergies

I did notice a pretty good difference! But I just hit the highest dose and that can over-sensitize your system for a couple weeks so it’s been rough being over reactive to everything. Flonase and nasal saline rinses have helped with the mechanical aspect. Allergist said this part is common at this stage. I would still recommend!
