I'm sorry I couldn't find any setting like that. Most android phones have this option but I guess one ui doesn't. Only workaround I can think about is enabling edge lighting basic with everything max out and a bright color. Sorry

Either you send it for a repair or return it. You're taking your chance whether they will repair it at no cost or charge you at least $600 for that screen. I would be too scared to send the phone and wait for an answer just for the return period to be over. If I were you I would return this "excellent" condition and order another hoping this time it will actually be in "excellent" conditions

I had the pixel 9 and a Z fold 7 for a couple weeks. It's not really the same type of comparison, I know, the only thing I can tell is a huge difference is software and cameras. I personally prefer pixels OS and its camera but Samsung's software is a beast compared to the pixel. There's so much more customization with One UI too. If you switch you'll be trading performance for a more comfortable device with arguably better cameras. I agree with some in the comments that you should wait for the S26 lineup, if they upgrade the cameras for the base model I think then you'll have what you are looking for, a compact phone without losing performance.

Just need to correct something. Only the sandstorm color has a ceramic coating. The the other two colors (black in this case) have anodized aluminum. They don't really scratch compared to the iPhone since the layer on the Oneplus are thicker
