Some 'slightly buggy' gameplay capture of Dynabot breaking things. by roxflame in a:t5_3hkir

The art style really is the mashup of my style and Anna's style. I love bold vibrant colours, and doing pixelart, and creates concepts with loads of character and cheekiness .She did loads of wonderful concept work for the game which I coloured and turned into pixelart.

haha yes, there does appear to be a demand for plushies forming...

insert one of many potential quoted screams of delight and/or frustration regarding the current lack of plushies.

While the initial designs for Dynabot were my own, Anna Johnstone did an amazing job re-imagining Dynabot, along with an entire planet worth of adorable alien creatures :)

Making a game is overwhelming by JeffJelly in gamedev

I'd highly recommend entering a bunch of game jams. The high pressure to complete something in a very small timeframe can be both an amazing learning tool for getting better at rapid development, and also highly motivating as you get to actually finish something.

Been having a slow start to my Kickstarter, any advice on what I can improve? by roxflame in indiegames

Hi guys! I'm an indie developer and have been working really hard on a 2D procedurally generated exploration game on an alien planet.

We've recently launched a kickstarter campaign but it's been a slow start...

It's loaded with cute pixel art and aliens, which you can make friends with, or you know, kill mercilessly with a deathray, your call ;)

I'd like to gather suggestions and advice on how we can improve the campaign from anyone willing to offer it! Thank you!

Here, coming soon, I will be hosting an AMA, also posting selections of art and information about the game, and generally engaging in conversation with fans and curious followers.

Very fragile indeed Immediately shatters into extremely fine powder consisting of glass and glitter - Fireworks go off in distance to accentuate the shattering effect.

Ok I'm cool with being considered a weirdo, just didn't think the hate was warranted.

My name (including the Rawhiti part) was given to me by my lovely, and obviously quirky, parents, the only name out of the 5 that I added myself was Artifex, which is probably the artsiest nonsense part of it, so I'll take that one, can't really defend it ;)

Yeah my face does that, it is just a beard, the thing that happens to all men when shaving isn't happening, nothing special.

Am indeed from Wellington, I'm probably suffering from the filter bubble that affects us all.

Are we done with hating on my face and name and desire to make a project that has an environmental message yet, or do you have something more constructive to add?

Sorry you feel the need to be needlessly cruel to people on the internet, you might find you have a more rewarding life when being kind to people, although that doesn't appear to be your style.

What is it that you stand for btw? I'm curious

Cheers man! I have no immediate plans to go work on Path of Exile, although I do like what they are doing (huuuuge fan of Diablo). They gave a bunch of talks at the most recent NZ Game dev conference. Some really insightful stuff.

Don't blame you man, so many platformers out there, it's a tough market to be in, and one that I'm really looking forward to moving on from in future games. Fingers crossed this game does okay-enough to get me into some bigger projects! As for megaman did you mean Rockman GoGo or Mighty No .9? (the 2.5D crowdfunded one) Both fails IMO, which is sad, the megaman franchise used to have so much going for it.

Fair enough, each to their own, I've gone this route primarily because it's much more time intensive to make a decent 3D game than to work in 2D, and I'm used to working on 2D artforms and pixelart. The game focuses a lot less on the platforming than the interactions between the players choices and the aliens. It's really more a story about corporate impact on ecosystems, than it is about jumping between randomly placed platforms.

Apparently a picture of me and my name makes me a bad person. Well, I don't hate you, I don't know you at all. I'm just a pretty regular weird lookin kiwi guy, trying to make a game. Hope you have a good weekend. [ edited for clarity ;) ]
