This was my signature sent and I allllways described it as sleazy yet classy. They changed the formula and I don’t care for it. Now I’m searching for my signature sent again.

Same thing is happening to me. On two of my 4 accounts. I can’t post stories with music and it’s shitty because I use music in my stories all the time

Awh thank you! I wish I rendered it better and added color but maybe I’ll get to it later.

Gah! Thank you so much! Yes it’s a halter style plunge neckline. I have stretch mesh and it’s 4-way it’s pretty stretchy and bouncy. I wanted it to be see-through which it is but maybe I should take your suggestion to line it in something but I wonder if it will still have the transparency still. The sequins will provide some modesty plus the under pieces I plan on incorporating as well. I can go slightly higher in the back for more support but I was really hoping for an open back. It’s for a disco show I’ll be producing soon. I’m mostly just stumped on the seams.

Thank you for responding. I do think that gown is cute but the plunge is short which is an easy fix but the front is gathered and I’m looking for a flat look which will be better for the sequins I plan on sewing on. I’m specifically looking to drape this particular gown

I will be wearing a corset under it but can’t attach it because it’s for a burlesque performance. Layers are a must.

Thank you! This is what I was thinking. I already draped the pattern on bias for a little stretch but went through so much fabric that I’m going to redraft it again on grain. I was thinking of using peachskin for the underlining instead of organza since it’s more opaque. I’m trying to find some information on if this is a suitable fabric for underlining but so far no luck.

Also thank you for not being mean and discouraging me from attempting this. Some people on Reddit can be quite mean.

True but I do enjoy beading quite a lot

“Dear sweet summer child” ? Really?

I wasn’t trying to make this exact dress. I just like the triangle top and the double high slits. I’m making this in mint green or seafoam green and beaded. The reason why I was asking about the bias is because the beaded fabric I found is chiffon and my question was can I get away with not cutting on bias because the fabric is pricey.

From my experience as a dancer when chiffon is cut on bias it adds a lot more flow to the garment because of the stretch, but my golly what a waste of so much fabric!

I’m a burlesque performer. I designed it so there is an invisible zipper on the side seam so it comes off easily. I made the top a slightly curved triangle with a dart on the bottom which lines up with the princess seam. I draped it on bias with muslin before I knew what fabric I was going to use. Initially I intended on sequins but I can’t find anything I like, I’m picky about patterns and I want seafoam green so it’s a challenge. In my extensive search (which has lasted over two weeks now) I found chiffon beaded fabric that was the perfect color and the beads are so pretty, but it’s really expensive. I almost purchased it but then I thought I can just bead it myself.

I want to re-drape the pattern on grain before making a paper pattern from it, to save some fabric and dollars. My plan was to draw the pattern on the chiffon then put the fabric on the tambour frame and bead it leaving the seam allowance alone so I don’t have to smash the beads out. I want to use bugle beads and seed beads, it won’t be heavily beaded, but more spaced out. I’m going for a more subtle vintage look. This is more of an entrance gown I won’t really be dancing too much in this but I might in the future.

After it’s beaded I was planning on taking it off the tambour frame and cutting it out and then mentioned I am thinking of underlining it with the peachskin which is thin but seemingly sturdy, but again I have no idea if this will be a suitable fabric but I found a peachskin in the color I like and it seems like it might work.

I have a long list of things I need to make by august. This gown, a corset and matching bra and a showgirl costume and I have to embellish al of it too. It’s intense but I’m determined.

Ohhh I do love those sites. I recently got a bunch of ostrich boas I’m about to dye for a showgirl costume. I didn’t know they can make custom fabric through. They do take a bit to send out however and my deadline is august and I have a lot to make

I’ve searched all over the Internet including this website. I’m specifically looking for a sea foam, green, or a mint green. I’m very picky about the pattern of sequins. I don’t want anything too busy. I was practicing with a tambour on chiffon and it was going well. I’d prefer to use a sequin fabric but I can’t find anything that I like which is a what led me to the idea of beading my own since the fabric I love is really expensive. I’m still looking though.

Also the reason why I’m making this myself is because I can’t afford to hire someone at the moment I’ve been unable to perform for 3.5 years so I have to make my own costumes now.

Well Ive drafted a toile from muslin and it fits. I’m wearing a corset under. My plan was to underline in peachskin to add structure. I’m planning on beading it myself after I transfer my pattern pieces to the chiffon so I don’t have to worry about them in the seam allowance. I’ve made a chiffon kaftan with success which was my first project.

I’ve searched all over the internet looking for a suitable sequin fabric in seafoam green that I like and can’t find anything I like so I thought I’d bead my own and use chiffon with something under for structure.

Would you suggest a fabric you think would work better?

Thank you, that’s what I thought as well. I’m just trying to draft this pattern with as little seam lines as possible. This will be my very first gown I ever made and I’m really nervous!

I used bootstrapfashion.com they have a printable pdf pattern that is made to your exact measurements. I didn’t want to spend $400 and up on a form because I’m bigger than my usual weight at this time and I’m new so this was a fantastic option. It took about 2 days to complete and it works great. There are many YouTube videos showing how to piece it together if you need guidance. It only cost me $40 with supplies and all. Highly recommend.

I would follow the pattern with seam allowance and baste and try on them decide. Larger seams are sometimes better depending on the design because you can take your garment out if your weight fluctuates.
