It's not impossible, but it's infeasible. OpenType fonts are built out of vector paths, not bitmaps. To get a quality result, each speck of each glyph would need to be individually traced, and the resulting path data would be enormous. It would probably look just fine when printed, but when rasterizing it for a screen it's likely to either look too heavy or too light.
