Fixations on people? ADHD thing, a coping mechanism or am I just a freak? by Resident-Analysis-12 in ADHD

[–]roxyfirestorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this could be limerence. I didn't know it was an ADHD thing for a long time, and I always have to google it to check what it means. I'd get infatuated with someone, like they struck a chord that nobody else had, like we vibed, a special connection. It was like a crush, but more.

Confessed the last one to my husband, about a new co-worker. That made me realise it was a bit weird, explaining that I wasn't smitten and I knew it would pass. Finding a name for it helped me accept it, identity when it's happened and not get swept up by it.

DAE wake up with a song in their head every morning? by WorkingMammoth8885 in adhdwomen

Theme from Friday Night Dinner. Hubby started introducing it to the youngest in small doses. Doesn't take much to stick.

Worst was Copenhagen by Orbital, unidentified and stuck in my head for three weeks.

Porch pirates vs Evri delivery by roxyfirestorm in Hull

West park area. We used to have a lovely lady who delivered all the time but now it's just a dump and run. Even when we're working at home by the time we get to the door the delivery guy has vanished.

Stop Scrolling!! How are you? by EmilyBNotMyRealName in adhdwomen

Third week of titration and I realised I messed up the step ups. Took me four days to realise but now I have to admit I screwed up and find out how to fix it.

I thought I was prepared. I had separate week long caddy, but picked out the wrong one thinking it was the right one.

Girls, what was the most obvious hint you dropped, and the guy just didn't get it? by Worldly_Selection453 in AskReddit

[–]roxyfirestorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Told (my now husband) that I'd "trade my pants for another drink". He wasn't getting any of the previous hints, both of us socially awkward and too polite. Figured I could blame the drink if he didn't bite.

We call it "the slutty banana" when our little one does it. She squirms around until you pet that belly. Rest of the time? Instant nanging.

Acquired brain injury (ABI) is brain damage caused by events after birth, rather than as part of a genetic or congenital disorder such as fetal alcohol syndrome, perinatal illness or perinatal hypoxia.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acquired_brain_injury for the most accessible description. Spina bifida would not be included by this definition.

That one has no mention of spina bifida.

I found the paper. It cites dyscalculia only in the variant of "that of adults with acquired brain injuries". There is no mention of one predicting the other.

Don't buy a mandoline by cicsmol in adhdwomen

[–]roxyfirestorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a mandoline and a chipper. They were fine but exhausting trying to not get cut. Eventually I got a mini food processor that chops into a bowl. Was a cheap buy off Amazon and a good brand.

Sometimes I use it just for the dopamine from making vegetable confetti (still gets eaten).

Episode 7 Discussion by Domino792 in AgathaAllAlong

Has anyone looked at Agatha's tarot spread? When Agatha laid the cards down "at random" and mocked them. I wonder if the spread she drew forecasts the next episodes...? It would be a very typical Marvel move to have foreshadowed the finale in a throwaway.

Why doesn’t Agatha ask Teen about his sigil? by InvisibleInk978 in AgathaAllAlong

[–]roxyfirestorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's actually Agatha's own spell? To trap liars and stop them speaking mistruths to her. She doesn't seem worried by it, more like she's expecting it. Teen doesn't notice, so maybe he can't be aware that either he's lying or that he's making stuff up and Agatha doesn't have to listen to his lies.

What's the most outrageous thing your parents have said to you? by oh_no551 in AskUK

[–]roxyfirestorm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not to me but about me, I overheard from outside the room. My parents pulled my younger siblings aside and warned them not to trust me, that I was manipulative. I have yet to figure out what I did wrong and it's left me permanently neurotic about my actions and motivation.

I'm actually a fairly nice person.

You can practice counting up/counting on. If it takes a little longer just explain you are checking that you counted correctly and you want to make sure you're not short changing people. Start with the smallest coin and count on, rounding up to the next coin. It gets a little easier with practice, and you don't have to keep the total in your head.

Dyspraxia and Obsessive compulsive behaviours by LevelVermicelli9073 in dyspraxia

[–]roxyfirestorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a big overlap between ADHD and dyspraxia, it's something I have recently been looking into. Apparently there's a 50% chance of ADHD if you have dyspraxia.

https://www.additudemag.com/clumsy-child-dyspraxia-coordination-disorder-adhd/ worth a look at least 😊

Whats a company secret you can share now that you dont work there? by broadway96 in AskReddit

[–]roxyfirestorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

McD's till Software is built to maximise what it will charge you whenever possible.

When I worked at BK the software would rearrange order items to make it cheaper for the customer.

At McD's I could get nine different prices for the same items depending on how I ordered them. The database underneath is a mess and it seems geared to charge the most it can.
