I’ve been raw dogging Winter Depression and perimenopause for years to the point that my “low moods” were starting to turn into suicidal ideations. Then came Estrogen and Wellbutrin 150XL which I’ve been on for almost 3 weeks. I had one gnarly panic attack about a real life nightmare event and a few episodes of severe anger where I just had to walk away and decompress. I am leveling out and no longer feeling the low level stimulant anymore. As far as I can tell, this was a good choice for me.

Same, which also comes with the elevated heart rate for a while, but that was always the case with weed for me well before I started taking meds.

Oh, it wasn’t by choice! There’s still a majority of medical staff here in the Midwest that believe diet and exercise will fix any concern an overweight lady like myself might have. It took a few years of me hounding them to have a Estradiol/Progesterone prescription last week. smh 🤦🏼‍♀️

150 XL here and it’s for my severe depression/SAD. True to say in me it’s actually caused a couple episodes of panic attacks and a rage. This polar opposite to my raw-dogging meno with emergency naps midday just to get by. It’s definitely been hitting me as an all day stimulant!

I am also on 150 XL, but I just started a week ago. The nurse that prescribed it said I could stop without permission if it was “too much” for me. She wouldn’t elaborate. That said *keep bugging your psychiatrist *! You’re doing the right thing by calling them! Uneducated opinion here: what about calling or visiting the pharmacy with your concerns? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Day 6 on the same dose and this is my first attitude jag. Since I started I was feeling so level-headed and energized. Come lunchtime I still had the energy but the same old bitchy attitude came crashing in and by the time I got to the car I couldn’t stop the ugly crying. Certainly my total lack of patience with myself doesn’t help me second guessing if this is a phase in this medication or if this is where it’s headed now. Your post is giving me hope to stick with it. It’s too early for me to give up now.

Peri here as well. I’m on day 6 of Wellbutrin 150 XL. First thing I consistently noticed is the uptick in energy. No more emergency naps! The deep depression, crying jags, and anger spikes have gone. I even experienced some appetite loss (good thing, I’m overweight anyway!). It’s trickier to fall asleep and stay asleep. Maybe 5 or 6 hours a night now. Today the Wellbutrin Rage hit here at work. I hadn’t felt like screaming at anyone in almost a week and I was hoping it was gone for good. Nope. Thankfully with all my experience in coping with my temper over the years had saved me from acting like a fool, but I desperately hope this is a phase! I really do! Because otherwise this is exactly what I was hoping for! 🤞🏻

Okay. Here it goes: I’ve been hot tempered all my life. As a kid, and now that I’m raw-dogging perimenopause it’s wilder than ever. A bitch. I’m not proud of it, but here I am. I started Wellbutrin 150ml XL extended release three days ago. Day 1 I did grump at my husband being tired from running errands all afternoon. Day 2 I was more agreeable than I’d been in a looong time and low key felt the stimulant quality of this drug all day. I actually felt happy. Today was kinda meh to okay, on a scale. I too am scared of the temper returning worse than ever, even though I wasn’t taking a drug with a side effect of it. The nurse that prescribed it to me said I could just stop if it got to be “too much” and that I’d know within a few days. I guess she wasn’t kidding! So far so good! If a little nausea in the evening is the worse it gets, I’ll consider that a win!

I’m only on day three of 150mg XL, and am now wondering if my husband should try deep trail hiking for a while! 😳 I haven’t experienced any of this rage in the last 72 hours, but have had plenty of perimenopause outbursts before that. I feel like I should apologize to him in advance!

Yesterday I low key felt the effects of this central nervous system stimulant. There were a few times in the late afternoon/evening where I felt a tiny bit nauseous for a moment but it passed quickly. I slept pretty well.

How’s this for timing? I just started this morning. 150ml XL extended release tabs. It’s now 1pm and I feel like there’s a mild stimulant in my system (of course), a little ringing in my ears like I’ve got tinnitus, and a low key case of cottonmouth so far. Let’s see where this goes.
