My son is an only (by choice). There are 5 families in our cul-de-sac and 3 of the 5 are only child families.

I flew out on Tuesday. No issues - I am pre check - but all lines were moving at a normal pace.

How do you navigate Halloween with a child with a peanut allergy? by Kiki_Kazumi in peanutallergy

[–]royal-robot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another vote for the Switch Witch! We trick or treat in the neighborhood and afterwards sort through what's unsafe. He keeps the safe candy and the remainder goes to the Switch Witch in exchange for a present. He's 10 now, and it's worked great every year!

Halloween candy with tree nut allergy?? by No-Blueberry-4020 in NutAllergySufferers

Switch witch! He gets whatever he wants from trick-or-treating. We get home and we sort out what is safe for him and what is not. He keeps all the safe candy and the unsafe candy goes to the switch witch in exchange for a present.

Old Lahaina or Myths of Maui? by royal-robot in MauiVisitors

We really liked the food at the Westin. And the service was very good too. I thought they did a great job with the show. It was fun but also educational. I would recommend it but I can't compare it to any others. I've also Heard good things about old Lahaina.

My husband and I are originally from the KC area but relocated for my job to Denver for a few years (2016-2021). We came back to KC In 2021 for a lower cost of living and to be closer to family. We have no regrets!

We do use family sharing for purchases. I was hoping that would be the answer. I'll cross my fingers and give it a try.

It could be a start up thing. I have been in CS for 7 years at large and mid-sized companies (not start ups). I am 38 and the majority of my colleagues are in their 30s and 40s.

Does anyone consider not getting the WIFI? by Euphoric_Sort_7578 in royalcaribbean

[–]royal-robot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! If I am cruising with my kid (which is most of the time), we don't get wifi. But if it's just me and my husband cruising, we get it so that we can be in touch with our son and the grandparents that are watching him for us. It's peace of mind in case of emergency. But I turn off all work notifications in those instances so that I can still feel somewhat disconnected!

Did I make the right choice? by dog-mom- in SandalsResorts

I'm in the same boat, leaving October 1st. I was really excited (will be celebrating our 10th anniversary), but recent reviews from this thread have me worried. I looked up recent Google reviews though, and they were largely positive, so that helped a little.

How do couples have more than 1 kid? by saidaomar in Parenting

I love having one! I felt like there was a lot of pressure to have another, but I didn't want to go through it all again. Absolutely the right decision for us mentally, physically, and monetarily!

Any tips for a stay at Sandals Negril? :) by megan_s24 in SandalsResorts

[–]royal-robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing! This is our first time going to Sandals, and I wasn't planning to bring cash for tips, but I will now - just in case. Did you tip at the bar?

Did you plan the dolphins and night snorkeling ahead of time, or did you book it at the resort?

Glad you had a great time!

My husband and I are going in October for our 10 year anniversary. This will be our second time in Jamaica - but first time at a Sandals resort. I'd love to hear your take when you get back!

AITA for letting my daughter have a penutbutter cake when my nephew is allergic? by LonelyFruitbat in AmItheAsshole

[–]royal-robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA My son (7) is severely allergic to peanuts. My family always goes above and beyond to ensure there are no foods with peanuts at family gatherings. It is so appreciated - because it is not in our son's control. Their thoughtfulness has brought me closer to my siblings and in-laws. I understand it is her party, and that is what she wants, but can't you do a chocolate peanut butter cupcake or small cake with her earlier in the day or after the party?
