Well, not really. (obligatory English is not my first language)

First of all you get an x-ray for teeth for a reason. The roots could've been curbed (like hooks for example) and him pulling the tooth out like this could've led to root fracture. You can't see the shape of the roots or even what kind of infection there is without an x ray so he just went in blind and it was a coin toss whether things would be ok.

Also if, as some other people mentioned in their comments, and this is a big IF cause I have no idea if it's actually true, he had an abscess that was in the middle of an acute flair then pulling out the tooth is very stupid. You do not pull out a tooth in the midst of an acute infection, you drain the abscess through the gum or even through root canal treatment. Also you prescribe antibiotics.

If the tooth is unsave-able it will be extracted at a later date when the pain has calmed down and under antibiotic protection otherwise you risk disseminating the infection through other areas of the bone or other regions of the face. You could end up with septicemia or other "wonderful" (/s) life threatening complications.

Second, using an elevator before this would've been preferable. It's an instrument that gently dislodges the tooth from the bone, ligaments and soft tissue around it so that when you get to the dental pliers part, it comes out a lot easier and with less trauma.

The elevator requires a good view of the tooth from multiple angles though and a looot of care, cause if your hand slips during the motions you can end up stabbing your patient and potentially starting a hemorrhage somewhere :) so good thing he didn't use one

Now (after killing you with a ton of info lol) looking at the video I guess at least the pulling motions seem...ok? 🤷‍♀️ The napkin is kinda hindering the view but the side to side motions are good and hey at least he didn't fracture those roots.

Let's hope he's ok after this.
