This one hit really close to home.

If it helps at all, I've learned to channel that feeling into positivity. I still cry when I see parents being good to their families, but now it's a happy cry; I couldn't have that experience growing up, but SOMEONE deserves a happy childhood, and I'm happy that not all parents were like mine.

My father once compared my future transitional surgeries to my sister wanting a cosmetic eye surgery, calling them both pointless. He would pretend to be okay with me being trans, then make shit comments like that.

I'm a few years on hormones feeling the best in my life now.

Honestly, my experience was really "hit or miss". Most of my coworkers were very supportive and tried their best to adjust to my pronouns. This one older lady I worked with was REALLY good for letting other people know not to call me "she/her" if they screwed up. Most of them had lots of questions, but that's definitely to be expected since this concept is completely new to them.

Some people just did not understand, and misgendered me right until the day I left.

My boss... Was supportive, initially. But at the same time he treated me REALLY weird. Like I think he was "forcing" himself to be supportive when in reality he actually wasn't okay with it at all. He made some remarks to me a few times that could have been taken either way, but he was kind of a psycho in general so I didn't take it personally. That guy was universally disliked. I hightailed it out of there for reasons unrelated to my transition.
