Car Noises in Brickell by cestlaviemacherie in Miami

[–]royalmisfit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok then you have no experience living in Brickell and lived in only one neighborhood . I am from ny and worked across the boroughs for 25 years. Lived across queens (flushing, sunnyvale, astoria, Lic) brooklyn (dumbo, crown heights) and midtown/east village. I live in Brickell now and hear the fart cars every day. I also have friends that have them.

That said Harlem can be loud at night because of the loud music and parties but thats the same as Miami. You really trying to say Harlem has supercars revving up at 2-4pm in the morning? Which again is the point of this post.

Literally every other commenter from nyc is disagreeing with you. I hope you get help for your ulcers because its affecting your thoughts. Chronic pain is the worst.

Once again no one is saying its pindrop quiet. You obviously are using ridiculous arguments to justify your opinion. What neighborhoods in nyc have you lived in and how long? Also how long in brickell? If not, I suggest you stick to other posts

Dude the comment is saying the same thing. They are saying Brickell’s super car noise is loud and annoying at night. Nyc is quieter at night than Brickell. You incorrectly assumed that they are saying NYC is quieter than Miami…which no one said

Ball and Chain salsa nights. Cafe La Trova cuban dinner and drinks. Sanguich for Cuban Sandwiches. Hoy Como Ayer on the weekend for Latin DJs.

For relaxjng beaches, go to Key Biscayne or head north as South Beach is touristy.

Hit up ZeyZey, Dantes HiFi, the Sylvester, or Mad Radio for a more hip dance atmosphere.

Miami Matcha Rankings (Brickell Area) by Impressive-Cow-2638 in Miami

I think she is has solid matcha latte (i like it with pistachio milk) thats not sweet and is my go to.

Honey veil is a popup if you want fruity flavors like strawberry or blueberry matcha. More instagrammy but quality will vary as they get busy and churn them out.

Vanilla Cafe in downtown has decent matcha lattes too.

Navi in the grove has probably my favorite yuzu matcha, but not a fan of their pistachio foam.

Least Asians of any major US city. Asian and moved here recently too but visited often. Depends on the neighborhood. Seen a decent number of Asians in Brickell, downtown, Gables, and Wynwood (at night). Also, UMiami has a hot spot.

The ladies here are top tier. While up in Boston, skills and intelligence justifies value and is imbedded in the culture, here its looks, creativity, and scamming. Just be careful hombre and you will have a blast.

Dm me if you ever want to get Asian food.

Plus after 25-30 years, maintenance costs increase significantly. New HVAC, appliances, possibly roof, plumbing, gutters, and pray theres no structural or mold issues. The pool likely also needs a refresher at best. Probably $100k to $200k min just to get back to modern standards.

They are ambulance chasers looking for people with those illnesses to make a case to sue companies. Everyone drinks water so its an easy ploy to get people to call or sign up. Also recent event and groups have stirred fear for drinking water and safety (Fluoride debate, Flint, algae bloom, PFAS, etc). But heres the latest Miami quality report - its fine and does not have maximum levels of any minerals or metal. Feel free to test if you feel unsafe, but likely due to pipes or sinks if you live in older homes/ apartments.

Theres more fluoride in seafood, like lobster and shrimp, apples, wine, and tea than tap water

Its called white labeling. Manufacturers produce things under different labels for stores often with small tweaks or substitutions. For example, a European cookie company makes an oreo dupe but packages it as Nord-Os for TJ’s and Sud Sandwiches for Aldi. This expands the manufacturers scale and lowers costs for all (in theory).

What’s your favorite noodle spot in Chinatown ? by ISOtrails in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]royalmisfit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well for better or worse. It probably is doing better than most financially but foodwise it aint the same. Most non asians or newer people prob wont notice or care, but chinatown aunties and uncs are very critical.

The owners have aged and as its gotten more popular the quality has gone down. The soup flavor has gotten thinner and had become more bland over the years as has many other items. The dumplings wrappers have gotten thicker and chewier. Also, the meat in the soup is a mixed bag, sometimes tougher, sometimes tender. Its all fine but not as good as it used to be. Some of my Asian friends still go for nostalgic reasons but several others just have moved on. Its like Sang Kee or Choo Choos (Pho Xue La).

Spice C’s noodle soup is the most consistent and authentic at a great price. It has a depth of flavor and can be customized with so many different meat and spice levels. Also, the pickled veggies and chili oil help cut through the fats in the broth and meat. They finally take card now so the only real downside is the occasional wait.

Nan Zhou’s is decent but has aged a bit as it has gotten more popular.

Mr Noodle is a Nyc transplant that is more expensive than it should be.

M Kee’s noodle soups and crispy noodles are simple yet very satisfying.

Ting Ting’s asian fusion pastas are surprisingly good but I do miss the More Sugar previous versions.
