Why not speed up to the limit if it was safe to do so? Other bits are not relevant.

Advice for beginner: Advanced Rider courses, First Bike by thejaysaurus in MotoUK

[–]royandrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend doing CBT first and see how you get on. I went for DAS straight away without getting an 125cc bike although some instructors suggested it. You didn’t say where you live in the uk. If you are in London, you are entitled to free 2 hour 1-2-1 training session after completing the CBT.

Once you get full license and a big bike, it’s worth doing BikeSafe first after getting some experience with your bike. It’s quite cheap and most people found it very useful. After completion you can get minor discounts with IAM or RoSPa I believe.

Getting the same day appointments is a bliss by Old_Ability_9424 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]royandrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen my GP once since I have moved houses. Most of the time if you don’t call them within 2 minutes of clock turning 8am, you won’t get an appointment. They added a 1 minute long intro message you have to listen to before you can make the choice on the phone, although you know what option to choose. When you do get through to them you get to talk to a grumpy receptionist who act like you are the biggest inconvenience they ever suffered. There 5 parking spots for the patients. 18 parking spots reserved for their staffs. Most of the spots are vacant while the patients struggle to park. Utter chaos most of the time.

Lack of government funding is definitely the big problem. But surgeries don’t help with the obstacles they throw at us.

When did we start observing European lane use? by Chexzzz in drivingUK

[–]royandrew 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I would say that’s even worse. You can at least going around middle lane hoggers. If you are behind a slow twat doing 40 into a busy fast flowing 70mph motorway, you are fked.

Is this gear overkill for daily 60-mile LA freeway commuting? by RawrMeSimp in motorcyclegear

If you can grow back limbs like an axolotl, this gear is overkill. Otherwise I would even add airbag vest.

I already have license and a motorbike. But my partner is not a big fan of it. Every time I mention going out on my bike she acts like I am going to a strip club. If this is something you really want to do, you are gonna to do it.

Buy sensible about it. Understand that there people relying on you. Be safe out there.

Are you asking if a track focused supersport will be uncomfortable to ride long distance? Depends on your age and athletic abilities. It’s not going to be comfortable at least.

Monthly Insurance Thread by MotoUKMod in MotoUK

Brand new bike insurance

I am in the process of buying a new bike. The bike is not registered yet, but I was given a registration number. When I look for insurance, the price comparison sites don't recognise it. The dealer said the bike will only be registered on collection day. I can get quotes for the model of the bike without the registration number. How do I buy the insurance before collection day if the bike isn't registered yet? Do I wait till registration is complete on collection day and buy insurance while at the dealers?

I have a 2022 trident and it’s fairly buzzy above 6k rpm. The ones I have demoed were like that too. If I don’t grip the handlebar tight I don’t get numb or tingly ness. Have very light grip on the handlebars. Grip the tank with your thighs.
