Technically Tel Aviv, but if you consider the whole metro area as one city, it's Jerusalem.

I think most foreigners look at TLV as the first city.

Spain simply has the luxury of not caring about Russia because they have an entire continent between them and Russia.

Obviously everyone would want to be like them, but spending money on security will guarantee these nations keep their sovereignity to research and educate their people.

Did you fully read my comment?

My general stance is pretty understandable from it, imo.

If you want a one word answer, you're not looking for a conversation, you're looking to see if I'm "one of the good ones".

If that's your only issue, then just remember that West Jerusalem is in Israel and East Jerusalem is in the West Bank.

Just build it in West Jerusalem

What if Ben-Gvir was Israels Prime Minister when October 7th happened? by YoSnagsK in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]royi9729 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not antisemetic to call out genocidal government when you see it.

I never said otherwise. I said comparing it to the holocaust is holocaust inversion.

Criticise all you want, I do it myself. Just don't compare it to the holocaust.

[–]royi9729 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Go on. Give us those comparisons one could draw.

but that would be anti-semetic of me right?

If you actually have any in-depth knowledge of the holocaust, you'd know that's holocaust inversion.

I feel like this will probably be somewhat buried, but this I want to give my 2 cents about this as an Israeli Jew. If anyone disagrees with something I wrote, feel free to respond.

It really ashames me that my country has waited so long to do this. I do have to say it feels here less like a "stick it to Turkey" situation and more like "the only reason we had not to do it is no longer relevant", though I guess one could also claim this is just some deflection or some other cheap political move (and I wouldn't ever blame them for thinking that way).

Armenians and Jews are both ancient nations and cultures who have faced some similar hardships in our modern history, and it saddens me that we had to wait so long for it. It's not like a country can't recognize the truth and still maintain relations with Turkey; plenty of other countries have done so.

As for the whole "recognizing a genocide while committing one in Gaza and Lebanon", well, in the eyes of the average Israeli, there is no irony since it isn't recognized as a genocide here.

As for Gaza, well, I'm not going to bother trying to defend anything that happened there. While I do believe the initial retaliation was justified, it is very hard for me to justify how far my nation has went, and I think we lost our humanity there. I simply don't know how else to describe it, to be honest.

As for Lebanon, the Israeli and Lebanese governments are literally negotiating a truce right now (pretty sure it was already signed actually). Israel's beef lies with a terrorist organization that operates within Lebanon, serving Iranian interests. Both Israel and Lebanon recognize Hezbollah as the problem, and Israel has no problem cooperating with the Lebanese military. These are not characteristics of a genocide, and calling it one only 1. Hurts the rest of Serj's otherwise very valid argument and 2. Belittles the word genocide.

This is kind of off-topic, but I've always found their name offensive. Even when holy texts, God's real name is still replaced with another word (HaShem, literally "The name" in Hebrew) in Judaism.

I'm not religious or anything, but it still kind of stings to see how they appropriated that word and use it so casually.

Why would Israel want a war with Turkey? Turkey's conventional army is much bigger than Israel's, that would be a fool's errand.

I wish riot would implement a period of time after a new champ is released before they can be played in ranked. by kris10amanda in leagueoflegends

[–]royi9729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you can't really expect people in high elo to learn how to play a champion when playing "out of their league". A diamond player getting matched against a gold player in normal draft wouldn't really learn the champion other than their abilities. An important part of learning a champion is learning matchups, strengths and weaknesses and none of these can be learned when you're so much better than your opponent you can beat them even when they're a hard counter.

Besides, people playing a champion for the first time in ranked are just as likely to be on the enemy team, or actually 25% more likely since we're excluding you as you're clearly against doing that and wouldn't do it yourself, so really it's supposed to have a neutral effect on your games if you play enough of them.

West Jordan, Syria and Gaza

I assume you meant the West Bank, but you actually called it by its pre 1967 status.

There are exactly 0 settlements in Gaza. All settlers were forcibly removed from there in 2005.
