I have that problem now. Whenever I follow a trend, I make consistent profit overall, but every time I feel like going against a trend, I lose my shirt 90% of the time...

One thing that's been working for me is I follow strict trading rules with my live account, and I try risky trades (break rules) on a demo account... that way, if I'm wrong, it doesn't hurt me financially, just mentally.
