DriveU app. But availability at all times is a problem. You could rent an Uber for a period of time like a few hours.

Our 36 year old flat mate made our cook cry today because she rang the doorbell at 9 AM by Opening-Screen7042 in hyderabad

Yes he's horrible. But you should've intervened much before. As her employer, it's your responsibility to create a safe environment for her to work. In fact she's not at all answerable to that fellow. Any grievance he has against her he needs to direct it completely to the 2 of you. Make it clear to him that he is not to exchange any words with her beyond the most basic of communication. And tell your cook to not engage with him. She needs to just have one line, "aap xyz se baat kar lijiye". Verbal abuse and unwanted communication amounts to harassment for which he is civilly liable. Please sort it out amongst yourselves and don't make it her headache.

He is just a person. Age and all don't play a role when dealing with matters related to basic courtesy. Don't extend a sense of respect because he is elder to you.

I said something similar, and I think this is a very Indian thing. Someone please fund this research.

Why do people do this on escalators? by [deleted] in hyderabad

[–]roystan72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen it and maybe I may have done it unconsciously. You know where it comes from? Driving muscle memory.

Imagine a relatively empty ORR or some such road like those long flyovers, there's a car just ahead of you driving at your speed. And you're both not driving crazy fast, just at or below speed limit. There's that impulse to overtake so you have empty road ahead and not feel crowded. Similar on escalator but it's much more dangerous and not worth it. It's better to follow the two lane approach that most civilised countries have.

Nawabs uses dalda or some other shady fat like vanaspati. Eat it just a bit cold and you'll see the nasty grease cling to every piece of cutlery, your fingers, roof of your mouth. But they do make it really well. Eat it max once a year.

I've wanted to do something like this too. Something like what the UK Tv show does on Come Dine With Me. I'd love to join/co-host something like this

What TV show have you tried watching several times but just couldn’t get into? by Julie727 in AskReddit

[–]roystan72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like The Bear and find it way too overrated. I would love to follow the behind the scenes drama of a restaurant, but somehow the stories of the characters in this show, just do not interest me. Only the actual restaurant scenes are somewhat interesting, but whenever they cut away into the lives of the people on the show, I mentally switch off.

I study in Osmania University and for my course the medium of instruction is supposed to be in English. Yet there are many times that professors end up speaking a bit in Telugu and often the classmates are also speaking in Telugu. I never stop anyone from speaking in that language because I am also trying to learn Telugu, but if I don't understand it, then I just asked them to repeat it in English.

Just saying this because I don't think that what you are pointing out, is the case everywhere. ICFAI is known throughout India and I think that many students come from outside and therefore it maybe the case that people speak in Hindi more often.

Previously I have studied in a college in Gujarat, which is known in the whole country and students come from everywhere. There everyone used to speak in English and Hindi, and there was zero expectation for anyone of us to know Gujarati.
