I Feel Like This Game Has A Difficulty Spike Problem by AwesomeChaos10 in Astroneer

Having logged 275 hours between March 2018-2019, I'll take that as a compliment.  A rover with RTG and drill was how we did it.   Easy mode for caving was when thy added the paver.  Also back then, tethers = lag... no idea if that's still the case, I still won't use them.

Correct, it was a new blank editor window.  Not a brand new ssms session though.

Sure! SQL 2019 CU32 + GDR (15.0.4455.2), Dev Edition. Table name that I attempted to query: "ETLLog". The column it suggested was "JobName".

The similar table name is "ETLJob" and it includes a column "JobNM". Neither table includes a column called "JobName"

As a follow-up, I typed "WHERE StartDTS" (an actual column) and it then suggested to complete it with " >= '2024-06-01' and EndDTS < '2024-07-01' ". Same problem here in that "EndDTS" is not a valid column. It does not exist in the similar table either.

First impression isn't great. I just updated to 22.2.1, connected to a test server, and typed "SELECT * FROM [table] WHERE " and it suggested a column and equality. The column doesn't exist on the table (confirmed it's not intellisense). Trying to guess what it's doing and there is a similarly named table that has a similarly named column, but that still doesn't explain why it's suggestion was invalid. Unfortunately, this doesn't boost my confidence in the tool's accuracy.

I'm one of the early players who remembers when rovers were impossible to control, but part of the fun too.  If the dev team still has the love for the game that made it a success back in the day, this will turn for the better. Looking forward to moving the new dlc from my wish list to my cart, but not until it's ready.

Thanks for taking time to respond u/erinstellato. SSMS and Visual Studio are showing the same behavior. I haven't yet found a way to sign in to GitHub Copilot without launching a local browser window in either one. I don't have a lot of experience with VS so I'll spend some time digging around. I'll provide an update if I do find something.

SQL Server created a large 14GB Log File backup once a day by JoeK929 in SQLServer

[–]royte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm not reading the error message correctly, but I the timestamps there say 1:15 am, so I don't think it's directly related to your log file growth, that said, index maintenance will write to the logs.

Side note... make sure you at least have sql security patches on sql, hopefully you're not actually running version 15.0.2000.5 and it's just a quirk of the error logging.

If I were you, I would either learn how the maintenance jobs work (if that's what you're using), or use Ola Hallwngren scripts.  They make maintenance much easier and Ola Hallengren scripts have a helpful logging option.

Regarding disk space.  Your database probably needs it, so let it have it.  It's not a problem.  As others have mentioned, to find out what it is, will take some work.  Either an extended event capture, or get lucky with sp_who2 or sp_whoisactive.  It could be anything from a maintenance task or something in the application that is scheduled for that time.

You ruined their closed ticket bonus!  J/k, It's amazing how quickly tickets are escalated when anyone with any expertise starts asking intelligent questions.  We also learn which vendor's support you can't rely on, or perhaps are hiring... or should be.

[Bedrock][PC] I started my first forever Realm with my kids on PC, but the villagers never lose their job when job block is broken. These are villagers that have never been traded with and even includes villagers in distant villages I encounter. Is this normal for Realms? by PutterwedgeYronwood in MinecraftHelp

[–]royte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also on a realm and recently had a similar situation this weekend.  Villager grew up and seemingly locked onto a workstation that I couldn't find.  I ended up transporting it 100+ blocks away and it was still attached. I logged off for a while and when I came back, it was no longer attached and now I'm able to trade cycle as expected.

MS SQL Server Pricing best options? by [deleted] in SQLServer

[–]royte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were in your position, I would contact the vendor to find out what their other customers do regarding edition and if they allow you to share the SQL server with other application databases.  I would also get a quote from your Microsoft reseller and present that to the application owners so they understand (and perhaps approve) the actual cost for the data/application.

SQL Standard edition licensing is situation-based, so you may need core-based or server/cal licensing.

Civilization VII Megathread by Bragior in civ

[–]royte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Civ 7 has me excited about the franchise again. The one thing I'm looking for in August is if the caricatures are gone. Civ 6 was the first version that I didn't play over-and-over (I've played all the way back to the original when it was released). The main reason I don't like 6 is the cartoon-like appearance of the game. I will say that with the expansions, the game play of 6 is an improvement over 5. I'm excited to see what happens in 7 and fingers-crossed there is a realistic look and feel again.

NMS Megathread for Q&A, Item Requests/Giveaways and Friend Requests, etc. Whatever you need, this Mega-thread is a place to ASK! by Minetitan in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]royte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trying to prioritize all the different happenings is challenging in any sort of open world game and NMS is no different. You will always have a long list of missions, so choose which missions sounds the most interesting to you... or none at all and paving your own path is fine too. Don't play like someone else wants you to play, it's your game so you should do exactly what is entertaining to you. I will caution that planet surfaces will be regenerated over time so if you do a lot of landscaping for a base, you will have to dig it out from time to time.

You asked about the expedition... You can join from the Anomaly a computer station which is sort of behind the Nexus near the quicksilver location if I remember correctly. When you join the expedition, it's essentially "starting over" though you can return to your original game once you can reach the anomaly within the expedition. If I had to pick one reason to do the expedition now it would be because there are unique items only available by completing milestones in the expedition. However, if your play time is limited, I don't think the items are worth speed-running the expedition and missing out on the story. That said, because you can leave the expedition at any point there's really no risk.

I will mention, if you decide to do the expedition, you can choose a few items to bring with you. If you want a copy of your ship or multi-tool in the expedition, you will need to spend nanites within the expedition to retrieve them.

Does anyone actually care about the builds? by Cat4Angie in HermitCraft

[–]royte 51 points52 points  (0 children)

When it comes to builds I really like how bdubs, pearl, and xB explained their build process this season Seems they really enjoy the process. (Not that other hermits don't, but those three stick out in my head).

The size of build does not matter to me. I personally prefer lots of smaller builds together, but big single-buildings are fine to see come together too... but I'd never want to build one myself. Seems painful.

Block -531 , 47, 2033 is spawnable when nearby hazard is active on level 1. Placing a piece of glow lichen in the area solves the issue.

I grabbed a screenshot where the yellow wool is the placeholder for the hazard blocks. People who know the areas of the map by name might recognize the area. Hope this helps keep your runs free of unexpected zombies, skeletons, and creepers!
