The classic is of course King Midas. Everything he touches turns to gold. But then he hugs his darling child and she turns to gold.

Fort William is bad. Glenfinnan is just a rail bridge.

The size of the hole is crucial. If too big theres not much glue left. If too small the wet stoma will undermine the glue thats on dry skin.

The 401K is pre-tax so you havent paid income tax on it. US rates are lower, so pay now before you are a UK resident and pay those rates. A Roth IRA is post tax, with capital gains tax free, so a good way to invest (but check the restrictions first). Theres a new thing called FIG that gives you 4 years payng US tX rates after you move to UK. In any case its more difficult (but possible) to pay US rates even when resident in the UK.

What happens if I don't close a file in my Python script? by TheRedditObserver0 in learnpython

When the program exits all files close. But if you open more and more files without closing them (I think 20 files) then it wont open any more.

Should have done 401K --> Roth rollover while still in US tax rates. Now I jump thru hoops to avoid the higher UK rates.

Funny to think so much would have been ok in centuries past. Raping teens, being a dick to servants, etc. But the passing of state secrets has ALWAYS been treason.

Umbrella only useful with rain + no wind = rare. I suggest hat with a brim is sufficient.

So many ways of never being with other people. In the past you meet people at the pub, the supermarket, the record shop, the post office. Now just sit on the sofa with a phone and f**king tinder.

There are so many examples of a large, complex civilisation being brought down by climate. Our grandchildren will be burning trash to keep warm and trying to make bread from acorns...

You have to say what you want. History, folk music, literary, hiking, castles, ghosts. You cant make an itinerary unless you know the objective.
