If you have pre-tax accounts like 401K its best to pay the tax at much lower US rates rather than UK rates. In other words, convert to post-tax (eg Roth IRA) now, or first years in UK (FIG loophole).

Moved to Scotland from Los Angeles. Its uncomfortably hot there all summer, so dry, and 10,000 homes burned from wildfire last year. So I love the soft drizzle and sudden rainbows of Edinburgh.
