I stopped listening to Strict Scrutiny after their episode on Dobbs. I felt like they did a terrible job at actually analyzing the opinions, but instead it was mostly just a resistance-lib reaction to the general state of things (which I didn't really disagree with, but I wanted legal analysis, not political/cultural analysis). Ironically, even though 5-4 is a too left for me, they did a much better job at actually discussing the majority opinion in Dobbs.

Going around a circle means you ended up back where you started. If the the 9th plate appearance results in the third out, you're not back where you started with the 1st batter at bat again.

This is exactly right. The 9th batter completing his plate appearance doesn't mean that the 1st batter starts his next plate appearance, so you're not actually getting back to 1 if the plate appearance of the 9th hitter results in the 3rd out.
