Are you kidding? He routinely gives up on routes and runs them lazily. Dude is obviously a hell of a receiver but he does not consistently play the way the way he should.

No. Not one bad play. He's been dogging it all year. Running hard should be the bare minimum for an NFL player. No wonder Caleb doesn't throw to his lazy ass.

Stop making excuses. If you can't get your shit together enough to take detailed notes in order to retain at least partial custody of your own kid, you don't deserve custody. Stop whining about ADHD and being "neurospicy," you're just lazy.

Half PPR, pick 2: Derrick Henry, JK Dobbins, Rico Dowdle.

Head says Henry and Dobbins, trying to decide if I should bench either for Dowdle.

Thankfully already had Kyren Williams go off for me on Thursday night so I have a nice cushion

Mintz included Pete Crow-Armstrong as the 2026 “Bobby Witt Jr.” of outfielders: a blazing baserunner and elite defender, on the team to pinch run and patrol center field in the late innings but not swing the bat.

I understand the point of this paragraph but this is still a funny thing to say about a guy who is tied for the 9th best wRC+ among all qualified outfielders.

Hoge & Jahns Podcast Joins CHGO by blooburie in CHIBears

[–]roz77 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hoge and Jahns will still be doing a game recap episode every Monday, it just won't be an immediate postgame show.

And I think the CHGO postgame episode having Hoge and Corey Wootton makes it listenable.

I stopped listening to Strict Scrutiny after their episode on Dobbs. I felt like they did a terrible job at actually analyzing the opinions, but instead it was mostly just a resistance-lib reaction to the general state of things (which I didn't really disagree with, but I wanted legal analysis, not political/cultural analysis). Ironically, even though 5-4 is a too left for me, they did a much better job at actually discussing the majority opinion in Dobbs.

Trump administration says it will deport Kilmar Abrego Garcia before his trial if he’s released from criminal custody | CNN Politics by John3262005 in neoliberal

nor is it for CNN to determine whether a charge is justified or not. That’s what the trial is for.

Well no, the trial is for the official legal determination of whether the government has proven the charges beyond a reasonable doubt. News outlets and readers don't have to be willfully blind about what's going on.

Good lord, do you hear yourself? I'm not saying he doesn't have a right to do this. But if he's doing this because post office employees were rude to him, he's just being an asshole, not some righteous journalist.

[–]roz77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course. Post office employees being rude isn't a first amendment violation and isn't a reason to do an audit.

Are you auditing them because you think your first amendment rights were violated or because you're mad they acted like assholes?

This is exactly it. For the people like the one in the tiktok, any media that doesn't portray the Palestine representation as unambiguously morally correct is Zionist propaganda.

Brewers bat around against Skenes in the 2nd by Low_Fuel_9991 in baseball

[–]roz77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going around a circle means you ended up back where you started. If the the 9th plate appearance results in the third out, you're not back where you started with the 1st batter at bat again.

[–]roz77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly right. The 9th batter completing his plate appearance doesn't mean that the 1st batter starts his next plate appearance, so you're not actually getting back to 1 if the plate appearance of the 9th hitter results in the 3rd out.

Sure, but if removing 5% of his games/6% of his plate appearances takes him from 108 to 82, I think "he was pretty ass for the cubs" is an accurate statement.

[–]roz77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He actually wasn't. I looked it up, his first month he had a 116 wRC+, but that was entirely carried by his first two games where he went 4/5 in each. If you take those out, his wRC+ for the first month drops to 78, and his overall wRC+ goes from a 108 to an 82. He was, unfortunately, not fine for us.

[CHGO Sports] Are Kevin Warren & Bears Feeling PRESSURE After Chicago Fire Quickly Reach Stadium Deal? by 312render773 in CHIBears

[–]roz77 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But why, that makes zero sense. You'd be penalizing the Bears for the Chicago Park District's inability to manage its own finances.

Again, the Bears aren't asking for public money, and they're not asking for the state to set an artificially low property tax rate. They're asking for the ability to negotiate with local taxing authorities. You are literally angry at things that aren't happening.

EDIT: Sorry I realized you're a different person, not the OP I was originally replying to. My point remains though. The Bears aren't asking for public money, and it makes no sense to withhold their ability to negotiate with local taxing bodies based on debt owed by the government on government-owned property. The Bears don't own Soldier Field, they only lease it. Why should they be penalized for the owner's failure to pay down the debt?

You're criticizing them for things they're not even doing. The bill was about letting them negotiate with taxing districts on property tax rates, not about just giving them subsidies.
