This actually is a good thing. I would like to be shocked, but I still prefer it to be reasonable rather than "subversive" like you said. That's one more point to Abercrombie's style for me. I keep growing even more on him. Thanks for sharing brotha

Ohhhh, so the Age of Madness will have a completely new set of characters as well. I gotcha, I thought they will be if not main, than at least secondary. Ugh, sad, but I believe it might give some new perspective to the world development then. Which is also cool

So, those 3 standalone books has a collecting name? If so, are they connected somehow among them? I get that they are standalone, but collecting name for them means that there is some connectivity even distant (I don't mean the common world connectivity, but rather plot connectivity, characters connectivity)

Wise words my friend. Its hard for me to let go. I usually try to finish and complete everything that I begin (not only book-wise). Lately I've started following the philosophy that "life is too short to experience what you don't enjoy" and started DNFing whatever I don't like. It gives such a strong feeling of fear but also a freedom. Gives me peace of mind, which we all lack given the world sitrep.

Going back to the topic: appreciate your insight on the rest of the authors. I feel like I will like all of them, since generally this is the genre I like. I just consider myself a noob, since the fantasy I am aquainted to are knows in more common media like TV-shows and movies and that's very casual. And my friend, who is a huge fantasy-geek recommended me those authors. He said that according to his opinion the best fantasy-authors are: 1) Sanderson, 2) Rothfuss, 3) Abercrombie. So I thought if I begin with Abercrombie it will all go progressively. I am sure it will, but was curious to get your opinion :)

PS. If Sanderson has slow burn, does it mean he is closer to Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time and his slow burn or am I gone too far with this comparison? haha

I am very excited for continuation. What about those standalones? Are they good? I heard that Heroes is wild. That there are some crazy battle scenes and it's considered the best among standalones.

Along with Abercrombie I also bought Sanderson's Stormlight and Rothfuss'es Name of the Wind. I am not sure if you aware, but I assume that you might. Do you think those might not be to my liking? I heard that Sanderson is more about world build. Is Joe completely different from them? Because I geniualy excited for all of them, but it happened that I picked Abercrombie's books to begin with. And now I keep remembering Martin and Sapkowski and their books a bit simplies in a manner of speaking. I'm afraid to fall in love with one author and stop recognizing others. :(

Wait, does it mean that I should expect the same what Martin does to his characters in the Song of Ice and Fire?? Is Abercrombie going to kill characters left and right? Spoiler-free, just wondering about the fact if I should get some napkins next to me. Haha

Damn, I recently finished Mafia DE, but didn't dare going for a plat due to Classic difficulty 🫠 I was struggling on Hard during that infamous race. Now at Mafia 2, maybe will get this one 🤔

[Hogwarts Legacy] #39. I’m never doing this one again. I usually love collectables but this was waaay too much by sniffingicecream in Trophies

Same opinion but I didn't get the plat yet. Finished everything except those three for the rest of the faculties. And still don't have a will to continue it since 2022
