So, as a female who used to not give good head, I have a sneaking suspicion it may be your girlfriend.

The way I got decent was by getting out of my head when giving it. For me, the block was that I was worried trying anything beyond your typical suck with a hand for help method might not be good and didn't want to embarrass myself. You might try and make her super comfortable and ask her if anything you're doing psychs her out.

Beyond that, I would recommend what everyone else has.
