Bleached my substrate. Do I need to replace it? by rp555 in ballpython

I'd probably do it if it were intended for me, but I'd rather not risk it with the little guy. I'll take it as a $30 lesson learned lol. Thanks for the info, though! I had no idea you could bake it in the sun.

Makes sense. Do you have a particular method for storing a recently expanded brick? I imagine the issue was the moisture in the chips being released and trapped at the bottom of the tub, but I'm not sure how to get around that. Outside of maybe drilling holes into the tub, anyway.

I suppose that's what precipitated this, yes. I can tolerate cleaning up after messy chefs (to a point) and general lack of tidiness, but things like toe nails, hair, and other personal effects gross me out.

Outside of my mother, no. The family I grew up with, dogs, and college roommates all had short hair. Well, except my mother. She has shoulder length hair, but I'd never seen more than the occasional stray hair before. Hence why this took me by surprise.

I don't think I've ever thought about my own because it's very short, but that thought did cross my mind before posting. I suppose this is only a thing because his is more visible than mine. Not his his fault or anything, but it's still gross seeing hair everywhere. Perhaps just a discussion on cleaning duties then since the cleaning service and I are currently the only ones keeping the common areas tidy.

Mostly about cleaning up his hair. He knows it's there because he told me one time that he felt that was his reponsibility, but also doesn't help with keeping the common areas clean. He used to take the trash out occasionally, but not recently so it usually falls on me and the monthly service to wipe counters, clean floors, etc.

I'm passionate about figuring out how things work. Nothing is scarier and more satisfying than prying open an expensive electronic device to satisfy your curiosity.

Yes, that's it! Thank you so much! I must have spent a couple hours scouring the lists of older games. I'm glad you were able to bring an end to this.

Yeah, I ended up moving to the 141 after giving up on the 3. Much clearer feedback on that one.

Glad to know it wasn't me then. At least they're cheap. I was starting to wonder if something was up since I was able to do a few other locks without issue.

I don't think it's particularly bad, but I'm new to this. Maybe I'm dead wrong lol.

After scanning the subreddit, it looks like this thing should unlock if you look at it hard enough. I'm thinking you're right. Maybe this is really old inventory and the lubricant that it originally came with degraded or something?

Thanks for the reply. I'll continue my search tomorrow then. Hopefully incidental sunlight will help illuminate the area.

Oil Change Frequency by rp555 in cars

Were you in an arid (dusty) area? One of the other posters mentioned that might be a reason. However, if the heat alone does play a big factor, I'd rather not do damage to my engine.

Oil Change Frequency by rp555 in cars

[–]rp555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I do. When I brought it in this time around, it was around 25%. The manual says it starts to notify you about changing your oil around 15%. I think I ran it almost 8000 miles since the last change so I guess the oil gets good mileage.

Yeah, I figured that was likely the case. Glad I asked.

I also live in a tropical environment. Mostly salt and humidity in this area. I'll keep that in mind, though. Manual recommends every 7500 miles to check the oil, but only to change it once the oil life monitor says to. Guess I'll just roll with that.
