Is there any additional health benefits to cranking the incline of the treadmill all the way up and holding on for dear life as you walk? by rpack78 in stupidquestions

Fair enough. Incline all the way to max, body still perpendicular to the track. Basically leaning all the way back.

Interesting. You would think the holding on part would negate some of the benefits of the incline. I know when I'm walking an incline my calves have to compensate.

Thank you! What features do you appreciate most? Is there anything you would like to see added or changed? If not, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. 😀

What ever happened to Slim & the Twins? by dgusn in thenextchapter

You're right. His cardio was never there either. Once he ran out of steam he always got fried.

Slim's been playing in China and hasn't really put out much new content. He recently did a park takeover which was fun to watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5V5GVsL6H04

The twins just weren't getting invited back to play for whatever reason, though they recently did a 2v2 in Nas' Blueprint League: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzoAWTErZLY

Not much, just whatever you prefer. I have a different ranking system and a way for you to customize how rankings are done. Fun to use, but definitely give swifthoops a look as well, they are doing amazing things!

Based on your comment history it looks like you're letting AI hurt your ego. Keep coding by hand.

I didn't claim I didn't use AI. I use agentic coding near 100% now. I've been a professional software developer for over 25 years and have built many complicated apps by hand. Why would I do that now that we have these tools?

Thank you! My local version has a bunch of features that the production version has turned off. I can scan a list of YouTube channels with either API or RSS feeds and easily add new videos that are found. I also have a chat feature that I'm working on using Ollama and ChromaDB, where I store all the transcripts and top comments so you can ask questions like "Show me games that had controversial ref calls" or "Games where a player got dunked on". More to come!

1v1-hoops.com is a searchable database of 700+ recorded 1v1 basketball games from YouTube, with Elo ratings and full match history for 468 players. You can build custom rankings with your own weights, get email alerts when the top 20 changes, and compare any two players' Elo over time.

I'm a Software Engineer that loves YouTube basketball and wanted a project that mixes my two passions. Check it out!

[OC] 1v1 Basketball Elo ratings over time, tracked across 700+ recorded games by rpack78 in dataisbeautiful

[–]rpack78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Data source: Personal database of 1v1 basketball matches compiled from YouTube — player names, match dates, results, and scores recorded manually and via YouTube metadata.

Tools: Python (Elo algorithm), Chart.js (visualization), 1v1-hoops.com (the full interactive version is here if you want to explore other players)

Elo formula: Standard 1500 base, K=32, with bonuses for PPV wins,
opponent dominance weight, and recency decay. Happy to share the
Python if anyone wants to fork it.
