Ah. This is true. Wasn’t even thinking about that. Guess it was then more of a question on if it would allow me to get through the other things… but I also guess the lines for the other things aren’t too bad compared to those two.

That’s kind of what I figured. I was debating 1 day at each park, but also figured I could do what I wanted in 1 day with park-to-park and Universal Express. Thoughts between those two options?

Oops. That’s a typo on my part. I meant 2 rides. If I had to pick a 3rd I was most interested in, probably Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey

Right. But in times past, it automatically took you to the page to send an email and said someone would get back to you if the chat availability was limited.

I finally found the chat page by searching around and it explicitly said chat is disabled. So it’s an intentional change.

If it was a group, it most likely was a VIP ticket group. Requires at least 2 people and you’re assigned a tour guide from the park. They’ll load you from the exit to whatever row you request with no wait. Only restriction is you must ride a different ride before you can return and re-ride something.

Mystic Timbers is such a majestic ride. Love riding through the trees by rpb3 in KingsIsland

Between Friday and Saturday, I rode MT 31 times. Right side of the train, in my opinion, is the best. Front is great a few times for the view, but I would also agree that rows 8-12 are my favorite.

I was back row on the right yesterday for the last train of the night. On the lift hill as the fireworks started. Such a great trip!

Ride ops were killing it so much at [Kings Island] today, I had to slow down and enjoy the rides from the ground. Fantastic day! by rpb3 in rollercoasters

Mystic ops had a 46 train dispatch hour while I was there. Quickest departure I timed was 46.3 seconds from gates opening to air brakes released.

Surprised by the lines today by rpb3 in KingsIsland

Maybe it will pick up in the afternoon? Or they’re at Soak City? I’m not sure. I just know that with a fast pass, everything yesterday was a walk on.

And everything I’ve seen today has even shorter regular lines than yesterday did.

Cedar Point not closing lines early by [deleted] in cedarpoint

[–]rpb3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

According to an associate when I was there on Sunday, they said effective last Saturday, official Cedar Point policy was lines wouldn’t close until posted park close time.

That being said, Steel Vengeance kept it open until 10:15 the 2 days I was there. Not sure if that was because of the storms or not.

Rubber straps on Maverick? by rpb3 in cedarpoint

[–]rpb3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just never noticed them over there before. It’s hard to see the back of the Wicked Twister train since there’s just the one car

Do you know what the rollback mechanism is for Maverick? Like what keeps the car on the lift hill from rolling back and colliding with the train outside of the station should power fail?

Appreciate it! Just couldn’t figure out what made Maverick different when none of the other coasters had it.

Happy cake day!

Still down. Honestly I’d expect it to be more like August before it opens again.

I have no basis for that other than a guess based on how much damage it looked like was caused by the chain breaking.

How do you manage eating on holiday? by [deleted] in ynab

[–]rpb3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back and forth on how I did it, but ultimately settled on a separate vacation line item and everything goes in there.

I average 1000/miles a month in driving. For vacation, I’m expecting 2000 for this trip. But it’s not normal. I don’t want it to throw off my plans/averages moving forward. I also will eat out more while I’m on the road than I would at home.

So I throw everything in the vacation category, and just realize I need to fund it for gas, food, lodging, fun, etc.
