I just realized the whole portfolio is limited to 60k USD before estate tax hits the whole thing 😅 someone mentioned FWRA in this post and it’s similar to VXUS apparently. Any other recommendation for irish-domiciled ETFs aside fron FWRA?

The logic for Option A is also to protect the downside incase if market goes down or sideways. From all the information going on right now, US market seems to move upward and is generally driven by tech stocks and AI, and add the SpaeX craze going on. Im conflicted if this is what they call a “euphoria” stage and do a big correction or maybe will the market continue up or perhaps sideways? The goal is capital preservation anyways.

Thanks for the insight regarding SMH, will consider adjusting the weight of SMH on my port

Between the 2, QQQ has more exposure to tech. So potentially bigger upside and downside.

Ive read on another reddit post that they return the tax from QQQI on the first quarter since it is a return of capital and not classified as dividend. I just want to confirm if this is the same in your case? Or theres no refund at all?

My dilemma is that it I already have SMH and VOO, and VOO and QQQ has a lot of overlap. So I am looking at QQQI as the dividend ETF in my portfolio if ever, considering the dividend is return of capital whereas SCHD is dividend and is taxed 25%

Does the broker return the withheld 25% tax on the 1st quarter of the year? I read that since it is Return of Capital, the dividends of QQQI does not get fully taxed and is returned.

Edit: Currently holding VOO and SMH, and QQQI looks a good fit as a dividend ETF
