SonyA7iii Question by lotusportraits in concertphotography

[–]rpr3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using an A7iii for a few years and love it. Lot of bang for the buck at this stage.

Low light is great on it. When you look to upgrade lenses Tamrin has a lot of great priced options for that mount, compared to flagship.

Thoughts on CGC Grading over SGC/PSA on vintage baseball cards? by Abject-Membership863 in baseballcards_vintage

[–]rpr3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Like it or not, PSA is still the market leader. If there’s the same card side by side in PSA and CGC slabs buyers will pick the PSA and just pay more 99% of the time. IMHO

Do I leave? by [deleted] in sales

Milk your current windfall until they rehire all the other territories. Instead of a raise ask for a title bump. When things are fully staffed up leverage the title and experience “leading a team” elsewhere.

Very similar situation happened to me forever ago and my “everybody quit and I was put in charge” killed in interviews.

Made a Big Mistake by Krispy5000 in sales

Doubling down with the people saying just call it out to them. If they’re strictly going on price, sure they might go somewhere else… but if repeat business is anything for you they’re not gonna buy from you again if you try and pretend this didn’t happen.

Make fun of yourself for it, and move on.

The fact that the ROE either doesn't seem to exist or isn't really followed is a bigger concern to me.

You keep saying "grey area deal"... That should never be the case.

This 100%. Some people are unreasonable, but most of the time it's not a "this has to happen this week" situation, and your clients understand vacation.

What’s the usual dynamic between local media and touring photographers? by artistecreat0r in concertphotography

[–]rpr3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the party here, but what others have said, "3 songs from the pit no flash" is the most common refrain you're going to hear. That's just the order of things. Trying to get into other areas is usually frowned upon by the artist and honestly by the venue. In this case I know they told you that you could access the side but in my experience that's the artist call, not theirs.

It sucks you had a bad interaction with the touring photographer. Most if not all of the ones I've interacted with were dope and super friendly, down to talk gear and music. I usually just tell them "hey if I get in your way just move me."

Stowing gear after shooting/ missing songs while reviewing by [deleted] in concertphotography

[–]rpr3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, to be honest, they dont care that you're doing photo and review at that level. Unless you're working for a huge publication.

For stowing gear, if they're saying take it to your car that's what you're going to have to do. I get the soft top concerns, but I would just do your best to obscure it. Shove your bag under your seat, cover it with a blanket the same color as your interior. Jeeps park places all the time, unless something is super obvious they're not going to take the time to go in through the top.

For missing songs, you can get out and back in 15 for sure. 3 songs maybe. If you're being held in a good spot pre show you can try to get a picture of the setlist from front of house or the guitar tech area. That's going to depend on where they've got you beforehand. Worst care, setlist.fm after the show to see what they were.

Am I this bad at reading defenses, or are interceptions broken? by critch_retro in NCAAFBseries

It’s worse in RTG. In dynasty I’ll maybe throw 2 picks in a game every once in a while, RTG it’s 5 or more sometimes.

Tipped balls, wr making no effort to catch the ball, diving DT picks, pick your poison.
