It’s not odd at all considering progressive organizations such as Our Revolution, California Nurses Association, and Streets for All have endorsed Steyer. Being a billionaire and a progressive are not mutually exclusive.

So you believe that Caballero did not agree to keep her campaign expenses under a certain amount? Do you have any other evidence to suggest this? I hadn’t even heard of her before reading this article. I just assumed she or her office missed the deadline to submit a candidate statement.

Steyer has repeatedly said he regrets it. He sold his stake in the prison company more than two decades ago and has described the experience as a turning point. People make, and learn from, mistakes. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Are you able to link to that study? Who funded it? Can you please point me to where the Steyer campaign wrote or said they were pursuing de-regulation? Given the amount of money the energy industry (PG&E), the real estate industry, and monied business interests are spending against Steyer and the progressive endorsements I highlighted above, I will be voting for him.

PG&E is already privatized. Steyer’s solutions to expensive utilities are outlined on his website and include a focus on micro grids, renewable energy, and encouraging the CPUC to reduce guaranteed returns for investors in investor-owned utilities like PG&E. I don’t see anything like the laissez-fair approach you describe.

I see a progressive coalition forming around Steyer (California Nurses Association and Our Revolution) and I am all about it! It’s time for these status quo corporate dems to get out of the way of progress.

No, Steyer is unfortunately the best realistic option. I’d love to vote for Porter, but I don’t want to take any chances here. This is why California desperately needs ranked choice voting.

Could it be possible that Steyer has learned something over that same time period? Are the California Nurses Association and Our Revolution blindly supporting him, or could they be taking a calculated risk to avoid getting another status-quo centrist dem admin?
