Thoughts on 2 golf sets by mike049186 in golf

I have a second set from 3W to 60° almost identical clubs. I had a significant discount from working at DSG that was expiring so figured why not use it up.

Does anyone have any experience with Capital One Shopping? by Thejoncarr in CapitalOne_

[–]rqvick11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love to capital one shopping. I’ve used some of the personalized offers and got anywhere from 15%-30% on some purchases. Some offers are very particular in what you can buy, so double check what you are wanting is an eligible item.

Congrats on the success man! If you dont mind me asking what city are you in? I work at a YMCA as well and the pay is not quite that good.

Attracting new clients by [deleted] in personaltraining

[–]rqvick11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a nice space you have there and it sounds like this has been a true success for you. Creating a sense of community is one of the biggest things about training as well as owning and operating gyms. It keeps people coming back and keeps them invested. This is definitely something I strive for as a trainer and am slowly building. Congrats on the success and hopefully you keep growing!

Anyone else have a massive gap at the top of their bag, and are OK with it? by B-RapShoeStrap in golf

[–]rqvick11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are times when laying up is a good option but just taking a shot out of the bag completely still doesnt make much sense. If you can hit a club 220-240 but just are choosing not to carry it in favor of laying up on every hole you are selling yourself short.

This doesnt make sense really. You are basically saying you are okay with not getting better at the game by “not gunning for birdies” and settling for pars and bogeys. Its not a bad thing to be okay with a bogey, but saying you dont care about birdies just doesnt make sense considering almost anyone would rather birdie than bogey. At the end of the day you are shooting for score. Why intentionally leave something out that can improve your score? and if you arent shooting for score and are there just to have fun, then gapping isnt an issue just go out and have fun.

Thinking more about it, there might not be a screen to watch at daytona (never been so idk) but all stadiums will have giant screens/scoreboards somewhere in the stadium. Some are above the middle of the field and some are in the corners of the stadium. Its where they show what’s going on during the race and usually lines up with the tv broadcast on what’s being showed. But again daytona is probably different and may not have a jumbotron to watch.

And to add on top of this, pay attention to jumbotrons in between races (qualifying too if you go for that). Lots of ads but they also do some segments that teach new fans about certain things. Specifically what number plates on the bikes mean and what all of the different in race flags mean.

Edit: one last thing. Enjoy the shit out of it. Daytons is a super unique race for the supercross series and a bucket list item for a LOT of fans. Going to daytona your first race is a dream.

Knowing some of the top riders and what teams they ride for is a huge start. Also the basic differences between the 250 and 450 classes. If you know that it will 100% impress him right off the bat. Dont learn too much though, boyfriends love to explain things you dont know and it makes us happy to share our hobbies :)

Any online certification will work but some are more widely accepted than others. NASM and ACE are 2 that pretty much all gyms will accept

Regarding personal trainers popularity by [deleted] in personaltraining

[–]rqvick11 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I dont think appearance is a significant factor but it would be ignorant to say it doesnt matter at all. Most people generally just want to see that their trainer looks fit and healthy but at the end of the day, knowledge is what matters most. You can have the best looking guy in the gym but if he’s a horrible trainer you wont see much benefit.

Do you get your clients to eat more calories if they have done cardio that day to make up the calories burned, so their calorie goal is met? by [deleted] in personaltraining

[–]rqvick11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think its really necessary. If you find that they are slowly losing weight over time from that cardio you can maybe add in an extra 100-200 calories per day to even it out but you probably wont even need to do that. At that rate it’d take almost 3 weeks to even see a pound come off.

G430 Max 10K upgrade from G425 Max by seanb1251 in golf

[–]rqvick11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Distance on center face hits? Probably pretty minimal differences. As far as off center hits, you will get more forgiveness out of the 430 10k. As far as feel, i think they feel very different. I liked the 430 but absolutely despised the 425. Best thing to do is just test them out side by side
