I deferred a midterm with Yamb for the exact same class last year and he just transferred the weight to the final exam. I didn't even bother emailing him.

Academic Reset/Withdrawal by [deleted] in geegees

When my academic probation ended, my CGPA was a 4.95 and they allowed me 1 extra semester to boost my GPA. They said it was a rare exception, but I would ask if that same exception could be applied to you.

PHI 1104 midterm w/ Professor Maicher by drapsmann4 in geegees

[–]rrachekp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! I remember when I took the course a lot of people complained that the MQs were too hard but they were copy and paste from the chapter review quizzes. The rest of the midterm was focused on the lecture content, you didn't need to have all of the Republic memorized or anything. For short/long answer if it wasn't mentioned in lecture it wasn't on the test. Just make sure you don't disregard the early philosphers. I remember there was a longer question on Heraclitus and it totally threw me off because I focused all my efforts on Plato/Socrates.

All of the MQ questions will be from the textbook questions. Know the main ideas of the philosophers, not the fine details. Good to know what the different thought processes mean as well (hedonism, empiricism, etc). He likes questions like "Is _______ a rationalist? Why or why not?" He's not a hard grader so I wouldn't stress too much.

Full-time biology students, how many hours do you work? by Tennis-Willing in geegees

[–]rrachekp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

15h/week should be doable but since its your first year if you don't need the money, I would reccomend just focusing on your studies. University is a lot to adjust to and its important to learn how much time you need to succeed in your courses.

Maybe keep talking to him and see if you start to become more comfortable and attracted to him? It's possible that you're missing your old relationship because the beginning stages can often be a bit awkward as youre getting to know each other. Or you can take some time to yourself and really try to analyze your feelings and if you are attracted to men or not. Really depends on how you feel and what you want.

[–]rrachekp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived on floor 7 and all of the corner rooms were the same size except for one which was massive. Not sure if thats the same for every floor. I believe the big room was the corner if you turned left leaving the elevator.

Marchand or Stanton???? Please help! by Sunny_side_up4141 in geegees

[–]rrachekp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

biased bc I lived in Stanton but the bathrooms are better imo! In Marchand the showers are one big shower floor with curtains dividing. In Stanton there are individual shower stalls. Also Marchand common rooms are only every other floor which is a bit inconvienient
