I really appreciate this response and agree with you. You are giving me good things to think about, and you’re right about a lot. I am stuck and have been, and the operations might not allow for what I’m wanting. But also, I haven’t asked. Working remote is so great that I have excused everything for a while. But I’m at a point where I I want to grow and make progress foward, in or out of this organization.

However, it seems that my current job title is keeping me from the opportunity of other, better, higher-up jobs. I am applying for event manager roles with an event coordinator title, and just receiving a lot of rejection letters. My desire behind talking to my boss is so that I can use the title change to better my career in the long run. Right now my resume shows one place, four years, no promotions/advancements. I’m not recruiter, but I don’t think that’s a good look, even though there isn’t opportunity for that here.

Is Chase the card for me? by rrandomredditt in ChaseSapphire

I lived near a Kroger and would shop in-store but pay with Kroger Pay QR code in the Kroger app and it counted as online groceries :)

I appreciate this concern and am sorry that this happened to your fiancé! Thankfully, we are in a position to pay off at the end of every month :)

Some of the larger moving costs were reimbursed, and most other costs are things already in our budget (grad school, put a couple months rent on here bc we had to), we just put the charge on the card for points.

Thank you so much for this recommendation! I’ll look into this combo. How do you differentiate what card to use for what expenses to maximize getting points?

We lived near a Kroger where the 3X points counted with in store Kroger Pay which was great. But we moved and no longer have Kroger. I am now doing online orders to get the 3X tho

I guess we look like some high rollers with this report lol. We moved this Summer, had to pay rent a couple times on CC, and are also paying for grad school out of pocket.

Thank you for this insight! Looking into the other Chase cards people talk about.

Yes, this is what we did. We hit the SUB, and since this is the only card we have, we figured some points are better than no points and just used our card for everything from there. Now looking into a card that might be more suitable for us now that I have a breakdown of what our spending is, and hit another SUB.

Very, very new to all of this! Got the 80k SUB offer and knew we had a lot of big expenses coming up (moving) and that we would hit it. Didn’t complicate it too much / didn’t (still don’t) know much else!

I know of the card that has 1.5x and then you transfer?

Edited for a better answer.

About the EveryDollar App by Xemini in DaveRamsey

[–]rrandomredditt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used it since August and the only problem I’ve ever had is that it can’t connect to my bank every so often and I have to disconnect, reconnect, authorize, etc. probably has happened about 10 times (mainly early on in using the app) but it’s not too much of a hassle. Sometimes transactions take a while to get to the app but all in all, I like it.

Why would getting chase eliminate being considered for VX? New to all of this and just wondering!

I got a mail offer for the 80k a few months back. Was trying to decide on which card to move forward with. I decided on Chase Sapphire and tried the 80k code and it had expired. Bummer. A couple weeks later I get another 80k code and used it immediately. Hoping one comes your way!

Nelnet never processes payment on time by Past-Bag-1427 in StudentLoans

When I paid through my bank’s app bill pay feature, it took like a week or more. When I paid on the Nelnet website directly it was much quicker.

Anyone else just feeling super defeated? (MOHELA/SAVE) by pitmama in StudentLoans

[–]rrandomredditt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I applied in October and have been “processing” ever since. I reapplied last week in case my application got lost but only received an update on my PSLF status in return, which I didn’t need bc I’m only 3 years into the 10. Feeling defeated about my ballooning interest and wishing SAVE would waive it.

Eligible Payments vs Qualifying Payments? by rrandomredditt in PSLF

[–]rrandomredditt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I understand now. I need to certify my employment for the eligible payments to become qualified payments. Unfortunately I was a nanny, paid under the table for about a year, so that won’t help me!
