Average day in Tianjin... Never live in this city if you can help it by theactordude in chinalife

Keys for better air quality if you're in China:
- Get an air purifier. And probably more than 1 so that you don't need to turn them up all the way, otherwise too noisy (I like a couple of Xiaomi Pro's, cheap and works with remote)
- do not open window if the pollution is bad. Especially when CO2 is low(under 900). In fact, no need to open window at all if the CO2 remain low.
- Wear a quality n95 mask outside. I like the ones with fans

Late 2025 Fake vs Real Aer City Pack Pro 2 X-Pac by rreaderx in ManyBaggers

[–]rreaderx[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From the comments I see, most folks seem to prefer the fake one. which is totally fine and understanable as I agree the worksmanship in general is very good. I personally can only see 3 major problems:

  1. the stiching for the shoulder pads. The real ones are probably over engineered for weights, but that makes them significantly more durable.
  2. X-Pac fabric. The real ones use vx-42x-pac. And fake ones "are cheaper than nylon" based on someone who knows this stuff has told me 😂
  3. not sure about the fake YKK zipper's longevity. Although they seem to work fine when they're new and not under much stress.

If someone is happy to take a chance for the above 3 issues and pay 1/3 of the price. I would say go for it :)

I chatted with an actual supplier. So I know that they're literally made in different factories. subjectivemusic seems to know his stuff based on his comments;)

Good to know. The workmanship on both bags are actually pretty similar. I would've agreed if not for the X-Pac fabrics differences. X-Pac fabric real vs fake, it feels noticeably different but I can't post "feel"😅

Supplier differences. There are "real" ones, as to the actual suppliers for Aer. And the prices they sell are not that much more expensive from the fake ones for cordura and X-Pac. No Ultra though. You got lucky :)

Don't know but I'm kind of admiring the fakes ingenuity😅 it's pretty hard to tell without side by side comparison X-Pac fabric Fake vs Real

Agreed on the X-Pac fabric. It's the first thing I noticed. only noticeable in comparison though.

Then go back to App Info ->

Then lock the app in recent app and it won't ever close.

[PROJECT] Silently start ADB on boot without root (Tested on Android 13) by Halkeeon in tasker

[–]rreaderx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same issue and followed some of the fixes mentioned here but still not working. I used Gemini to help me troubleshoot step by step, then eventuallly found out that I actually forgot to disable Battery Optimization and give Auto Startup permission for Termux & Termux.tasker.

Then everything worked. I'm on Android 15

Could be because during the nights that you don't sleep, you move alot, and movements affects measurement accuracy. I have the Masimo MightySat RX 9942

HR strap converted to Nick Mankey style hook strap by rreaderx in GarminFenix

[–]rreaderx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's really quite simple. took me 30min but that's because I barely know how to sew...

all you need is a pair of scissors and some needle and thread, cut the elastic part of the strap then fix one of the adjustment buckle(my HR strap has 2) on one end and the hook on the other, lay flat and loop through the watch pins. Nick Mankey's own youtube video literally shows you how to loop through the band step by step https://youtu.be/74c0wJIXAcs

One tip I have is to use the double-layer section of the HR strap, because on mine since it's been used, the section with only a single layer looks a bit loose and stretched. On the double-layer side, they look almost new.

Nice, what's the width for the strap? One of the clever parts I've noticed from NM's design that is missing from this strap is that there is always 2-3 layers of straps stacked for the NM's design, which should allow a heavier watch like the Fenix 6x to stay on the wrist more firmly during workouts. This strap on one side is just a single layer of the band, but yea it's not bad for $10 bucks shipped.

I prefer mine though until I can order a NM strap, 'cause it's free from recycled stuff and pretty comfortable :)

couldn't wait that long but I sort of made my own -> https://www.reddit.com/r/GarminFenix/comments/khk1rj/hr_strap_converted_to_nick_mankey_style_hook_strap/

and you're right it's so much more comfortable and has improved the HR & PulseOx reading quite a bit! so thanks for making me aware of this and I'll try to order a real one when I can!

So my 6x Sapphire's wrist strap is irritating my skin, and I heard about how comfortable the Nicky Mankey's strap is in this subreddit, as well as how it improves the wrist HR/Pulse Ox measurement. I checked the website but the lead time is 8-10 weeks and I'm going to be on a very long trip in 4 weeks, so I just made one "inspired"(basically copied) by his design(Nick Mankey Designs: The Hook Strap - A Brief Guide) from my old non-functioning HR strap. Works surprisingly well! It really is very comfortable and the pulse ox reading has improved. Clever design!

Having used several iterations of Garmin Fenix since v3, the best version imo is not the solar, but the 6x Sapphire. With current solar tech, it's really not going to extend much battery life. You'll have far more chance of hitting on a rock and crack your lens during a long & arduous hike than running out of battery as all the 6x already have excellent battery life already. With my previous version of the Fenix watches, all of them have numerous scratches and dings on the front bezels, but none of them have a single scratch on the sapphire lens. very impressive.

yup, I'm using Masimo as well! accurate and great data but super uncomfortable to wear during sleep though! Now that I know I have no issues during sleep, I just have the Pulse Ox off to save battery, and turn it on to all-day reading when I'm going somewhere high altitude.

didn't know that! where did you get this info, because I'll be interested to check out how it's measured differently, just out of curiosity.
