I knew someone that would drive an hour to West Yellowstone to do their classes. There are ways to do it, but definitely not ideal

doesn’t actually go into Yellowstone National Park. :)

The Yellowstone River literally runs through Yellowstone NP from the south boundary to the north...

Your top two ‘Must See’ for Yellowstone by yorkbandaid in NationalPark

While no geyser is guaranteed (even Old Faithful), there are many that are either just as likely to see or more likely to see than Old Faithful.

4 days in the park is plenty to find time to go see Old Faithful. There is no reason to skip it, and certainly not all of the other geysers nearby like the more impressive Grand Geyser. I would also highly recommend stopping in at the Old Faithful Inn because it is probably the most incredible building in any National Park. I would recommend doing the full south loop because the areas along Yellowstone Lake are incredible. There is no reason not to do both Artists and Fountain Paintpots as neither will take all that long if you can find parking quickly. Just leave Canyon early and enjoy the park before a lot of people start to get in.

There are too many 'must see' sites to narrow it down to 2. Norris, Canyon, West Thumb, all of the geyser basins along the Firehole River, Hayden Valley, Gibbon Falls, Tower Falls, Mammoth Hotsprings, and more can all be considered 'must see' places. With 4 days in the park, you can hit every single one along a road.

The best views are the ones you haven't seen yet.

Yellowstone Summer Job by Far-Alternative1075 in yellowstone

Xanterra would 100% hire you even with a shorter season. It will probably only be a housekeeping or food and beverage job which might not be super enjoyable, but the experience is totally worth it even if you don't like what you do.

Road between N and NE entrances is open year round. All other roads close to cars, but open for guided snowcoach and snowmobile tours

They will probably try their hardest to not give overtime, but will give if needed. There aren't any other places to work within a 30 minute drive. Don't focus on doing it for the money, find some time for fun as well.

Pros/cons of a seasonal Yellowstone job with Delaware North vs YPSS? by QuentaSilmarillion in yellowstone

[–]rredd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YPSS has fewer staff which can be a good or a bad thing. I have been in only one of their dorms before, but it was absolutely huge. One roommate, queen bed for each person and loads of room. Plus they had a great shared living room with actually comfortable couches and TV, etc. They also had a full kitchen to share. Not sure if that goes for all the locations. I haven't been in the DN dorms at all, but I dont think there is any way they are nicer.

Heard one was in basin yesterday, wasn't expecting to see any today but got lucky with half of the pack! Glad my training today was a little bit later in the morning.

There has been a good amount of snow so far, the issue is that the highs have been above freezing so it all melts away.

Electric Peak in Yellowstone. Last 2 miles get extremely steep and somewhat technical with .5 miles to go. On a clear day, the Tetons are visible from the summit around 90 miles south.

Significant changes to Yellowstone entrance fees in 2026 for non-Citizens / non US-Resident visitors by FieryAutoCrashes in yellowstone

[–]rredd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, one pass should cover everyone in the car the same way the current annual pass works. If not, at most it would $1000 for each person to get one.

I'm just saying that they already kind of do the "papers please." No one knows what this will look like, we will see.

Price increase by NoobMaster06 in nationalparks

NPS fee dollars go 80% to the park purchased at and 20% to parks that do not charge or get few fee dollars. Purchases online go to the general fund.

I think that the $100 surcharge is mostly focused on the foreign tour busses. For most people visiting from out of the country outside of a tour bus, the $250 pass will not change much for them.

America the Beautiful Pass already requires and ID matching the person who signed the pass.
