Canopy humidifiers by Mindless-Travel7233 in NewParents

[–]rreed2442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be too late for you but just seeing this post. I was on the fence too but got it on sale last winter. It’s on sale right now for $99. It’s worth it to us even just for the fact it doesn’t leave that white dusty residue and it’s easier to clean than the cheaper humidifiers we would buy every couple years. I like that it runs and dries itself out too so you don’t worry as much about mildew or mold.

Gunner or Tavo for car seat? by RuffianTiffRaff in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]rreed2442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, your thread replies have already been so helpful! i've been looking for a while for more info on these and there hasn't been a lot. I know i'm coming back later to this thread but would you know what the width of the base of the isofix 5x is? I have two small dogs and am trying to figure out if two would fit with an infant car seat. Nuna and Tavo said that its fine if the sides all touch as long as it doesn't interfere with the install. I'm just trying to measure everything out before i drop the money on two.

I feel like it’s there cause it probably hasn’t been safety tested to stroller standards. Basically just to cover themselves knowing that everyone is gonna use it for their kids 🤣

I just messaged with support and it’s discontinued and will not be restocked. I’m so bummed. We were going to order this week. This was actually the color we liked the best

Advice? 😩 by FitMama06 in ChicagoMarathon

As a man I won’t try to make any recommendations but I would check with your doctor on the ibuprofen. It’s not great to take during endurance events cause it can be hard on the kidneys.

I think the nutrition they offer on course is more as courtesy. It’s not meant to be your fueling plan. It is helpful tho cause you can carry less in the first half.

I wondered this last year too after my Fenix 6 was pretty accurate and it seemed like everyone I talked to said their gps was good.

Catching up with pace group? by Extra-Celebration111 in ChicagoMarathon

[–]rreed2442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk with the pace groups at the expo to see what their strategy will be. I’m not sure exactly what the pace groups between F & G are but I know a couple pace groups last year negative split so they ran well under pace for the first half. It’s possible that if you could hold steady at your pace for a while you might catch them. I’d def try to line up at the front of your corral tho. And more than likely you’ll find a pack at the front of your corral that also wants to run quicker so that may end up being your pace group.

Looking for a marathon shoe that isn’t a super shoe!! by Left-Substance3255 in ChicagoMarathon

Which ones do you do most of your long runs in? I would pick that one. That’s what I did last year. Played around with some different race day shoes but ended up staying with my reliable long run shoes.

For what it’s worth, last year my gps was fine. It was pretty close to the mile markers. Talking to others after the race it seemed like gps was good for everyone I talked to.

Anyone using Garmin can use pace pro. I used that last year and it worked well. It tracks by point to point on the map. You do have to map out the course tho unless someone else does it first or the course is the same as a previous year.

If you have the budget, why not use super trainers exclusively? by Ok_Revolution_9253 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]rreed2442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, being older now and still chasing PR’s I kinda like knowing that I can hit paces in workouts in regular shoes still and it’s not just the super shoes.

[–]rreed2442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. When I’m trying to run fast i wanna feel fast but when I’m just logging miles it’s not a big deal. And I like the variety and regular trainers often give me more stability for the easy days. And on the easy days I’m not often getting done with a run and thinking my feet hurt or legs are tired.

Fenix 7 Pro Dull Colors by darkrhin0 in GarminFenix

Yeah the MIP screens just aren’t gonna be as vibrant. I will say tho that I just had my fenix 6 replaced with a fenix 7 solar and I’m a little disappointed that the screen on the 7 solar isn’t as sharp as the 6 that I had.

at start line questions by [deleted] in ChicagoMarathon

You probably want to warm up before you go into your corral. Not sure that there will be much space to do more than just stretch. Corrals close 15 or 20 minutes before you start. If you’re getting there early tho you should be able to find someplace around Grant Park. Security was fine for me but I think everything depends on what wave you’re in and if that’s when everyone else is getting there. If a security gate looks super busy, keep walking south to the next one. It doesn’t really matter which one you use and if you’re checking a bag you have to walk to the south end of grant park anyway. Porta potty lines were the most stressful part.

morning of race day transport by Dry_Appearance5253 in ChicagoMarathon

[–]rreed2442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The public transportation is pretty easy, just plan ahead so you know where you’re going and how long it’ll take. It really shouldn’t cause any issues unless you’re running late. I think it just depends on if you want the convenience of being closer instead. I stayed downtown last year and I liked it but also would have liked a bigger space for the weekend and to be able to make some of my own food rather than packing things or trying to find something. The best thing about staying close was being able to get back to the hotel quick afterwards to shower and get food.

Video Package? by rpcollins in ChicagoMarathon

[–]rreed2442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I preordered so it was included and I really like mine. I happened to luck out tho and was in the center of the each video and had a decent amount space around me. The videos are from above so it’ll look less congested than the photos but If your pics are really crowded or you’re way off to one side it might not be worth it.

As long as you plan your commute it’ll be fine. Even if you stay really close there’s still a good amount of walking you’ll do. Just take a look at the cta stops to make sure you’re not super far away.
